Hello "Backcountry Exposure"! Thank you for showing us such a great video! I feel very happy! I look forward to your next work! Have a nice day!

Thank you for saying “hite” and not “high-th.” And the kilo high peak chair works for me. I like it a lot.

Still not giving up my 1.2 lbs, $29 LACAL chair. Two seasons of backpacking and it's supported my 200lb frame without an issue. And it's actually comfortable.

I currently have the Kilos Gear High-Back Armchair 2.0 and I love it enough that even though it's heavy (3.1 lbs.) for a backpacking chair, I'm willing to bite the bullet for a little more comfort when I get to where I'm going. It's a little bit of a cross between the two chairs you reviewed in this video.
@WalkingDevon4 ай бұрын
Probably not for you as you like something easy to get in and out of but I like the Crazy Creek Hex 2.0. A great price, It has far fewer failure points of a regular chair, super lightweight, really nice to recline it and I can use it inside the tent when it's raining. But I totally get why it's not for everyone.

I have the Hex2.0 tall and I like it a lot. I just don't like it for camping, when camping from the car. But it's an excellent chair that's just classic!

@@BackcountryExposure Thanks for the reply, I probably should have got the tall myself!

Well, I found the Big Agnes chairs on sale for $148.00. I ordered two. I’m on a mission to upgrade all my camping stuff to compact, easy to set up, take down, durable and comfortable. Hope the BA chair fits the bill.

BA at least visually seems to be something you can trust to last longer, a thing that I hope people would think more. As a packpacker and hiker, I chose the lighter Nemo moonlite elite, but BA skyline UL almost ended up in my shopping basket that might have been better chair othervice, but it is higher(good thing) but I cannot sit in that in my tent like I can with me Nemo, so that is a big win for it in this case. Hope that You will have many great moments with Your quality chairs 👍

re. kilo gear chair - The pillow can also be flat packed (without the foam bolster) and a couple of T-shirts or ... added to packout on the trip. The pillows take up more pack room (with insert) than the seat fabric - of course, you do you... ?? longevity setting up 500 times... PS, trekking,I typically sit on my pack, no chairs needed.. (my Mrs bought these - plus the footstool / sit-stool accessory...)

Great comparison. Do you get any pain in the back of your legs from the leading edge of the material?
@BackcountryExposure4 ай бұрын
Thanks! I haven’t noticed any pain on either chair.

If you go to Costco right now you can get a Cascade Tech camping chair for $40 that's lighter and more portable than either of those chairs. Sure it doesn't have cup holders but if that's needed, just by the companion end table.

Comfort is key when car camping. I noticed that the Kilos Gear Grand Peak has those fabric flap armrests like the Eureka Comfort Tagalong chair. I have been wanting to try out a chair with that style of armrest.
@BackcountryExposure4 ай бұрын
They aren't as good as armrests that have a dedicated support like the big agnes, but they are still great. They support your arm naturally in a good position, and that's important to comfort. The chair is awesome!
@1blackbridge4 ай бұрын
I tried them both recently too and have very similar responses to them both. The arms are better on the BA, but the top of the backrest hit me at just the wrong place on the back of my neck. The arms on the KG are not especially effective, but the higher back made it more comfortable for me and the adjustable legs are a significant bonus.

I bought the big six and wanted to love it, but I'm a taller guy, and the butt part didn't stick out far enough for me. I also felt like there needed to be some slits made in the sides of the seat area to give it a little more give. I felt like i was constantly sliding down the chair rather than feeling seated and supported. I'll just cross my fingers for kilos or helinox to make full arm supports on a camping chair.

I have zero clue why anyone that is car camping wouldn't just get a full size Pod Rocker. I mean, he mentions here that it folds up to a "small size" so that it fits in your car well...if you're car camping, ESPECIALLY BY YOURSELF, the amount of space a single chair takes up inside your car is basically a nonissue. Pod Rockers are infinitely more comfortable and only cost $50-70. Don't get this thing, just get a full-size camping chair.

This is something to consider, it can affect the fuel economy and be an actual thing to consider with smaller vehicles, like othervice really good Japanese and European cars. I have a motorcycle, and those things are really important, and when there are 2 people on the wheels it can be as or even more important than when travelling by feet. Yeah one can say I need a bigger motorcycle, but that is not a realistic option at the moment, and my woman cannot and should get any lighter either. I can lose some pounds but so can my camping gear.

Big Agnes has the higher ground clearance though right?
@BackcountryExposure4 ай бұрын
Not necessarily. Just depends on the height selection of the legs on the grand peak.
@bradl26364 ай бұрын
@@BackcountryExposure What is the ground clearance on the Big Agnes?
@BackcountryExposure4 ай бұрын
The seat height is 20" on the Big Agnes.
@bradl26364 ай бұрын
@@BackcountryExposure Correct. Kilos Gear quotes 14" (max) ground clearance for the high back chair... so the Big Agnes has more ground clearance unless the specs quoted by Kilos Gear are incorrect...
@ryanyu50514 ай бұрын
@@bradl2636 I just measured my Grand Peak chair, and if adjusted to its highest height, it has a seat height of 18.11" from the ground. From this numbers, it looks like BA has the higher clearance height, and KG has the higher overall chair height.

I still genuinely don't get the point of a backpacking chair. I don't find them all that much more comfortable than just sitting on the ground, leaning on my backpack. And I say this as someone who finds comfort very important, I have yet to find a sleeping pad I enjoy sleeping on. Where possible, I do take a hammock, which also solves the seating problem, I guess
@BackcountryExposure4 ай бұрын
This video was more specific to chairs for camping. Though my video before this was focused on Backpacking Chairs. I think it's important to understand that everyone has different needs. For some, sitting on a rock or log is massively uncomfortable and a chair adds a lot of comfort to the experience. For others, sitting in the dirt or on a rock is perfectly fine. Just depends on your personal needs. :)

i still genuinely don’t get how anyone could prefer the ground. i could use a rock as a pillow, but i’d much rather use a pillow.
@samimurtomaki553424 күн бұрын
That footrest does not make much sense on that chair when you can just remove the legs. Surely it is nicer to get in and out from the chair, but if that size and weight really are important in the car camping or you use it for backpacking trip away from the car just don't takr the legs.
