Opponents of Gojo's return to history said that this would destroy the development of Yuji as the main character, as well as that if it turned out to be a ghost, it would only confirm Gojo as the winner of the battle of ideologies (which I partially agreed with, although I thought that the appearance of Gojo was the best option).
