Tbf you'll get absolutely smoked if you go top tier instead of low tier. The sub 4.0 BR premiums are nice because you get good research without always being wrecked by players who have played for a long time

War Thunder is the best worst game you'll ever play, you will love it and hate it at the same time if you are into realistic damage simulation and vehicle combat.

Flying in battlefield is what brought me to war thunder. I only have like 80-100 hours in and like there is still so much to understand and learn. I think I would rather spend that time studying for my CCNA. The only negative about this game is having to wait for your destroyed vehicles to repair if you have auto repair turned off, seems just a little bit much imo.

High tier requires a brain off numbing mindset 😂 Low tier gets ya a lot of fun silly moments that is nice and refreshing after getting missiled from a plane or heli I didnt see.

Saying this as someone who has too many hours invested; The game has a lot to take in to learn. You can’t just rely on the raw performance of your vehicle, you need to know what you’re fighting, the map you are on, and general player mentality. Don’t buy the vehicle packs beyond rank 5, because the competency gap between players widens dramatically. You go in not having the fundamentals for the game, you’re going to have a bad time, and other players are going to be annoyed by your antics. There’s also a lot of BS (coughrussianbiascoughcough), but if you know what to do and how to counter it, you’ll do far better. The core loop of the game works. It’s just a bunch of other stuff that is going to be painful.

It's been proven several times that Russian bias is a myth. Since the majority of the player base is concentrated in blufor nations, it's more common to hear them saying bias for redfor. The reality is any nation you play, the opposite nation is going to feel like they are biased, it's human psychology. Doesn't take a genius to see how much the Russian air tech tree is underperforming, to a point where it becomes unplayable. Not only me saying it, WT KZbinrs also say it.
