The AI seldom drives at the very limit of the car's capabilities. They're still reigned in by their skill levels and behavior parameters (how closely they follow the racing line, aggression, drafting behavior etc), but they scale most noticeably with better cars. When I made the GTO '65 more powerful and easier to control (by changing the AERO_COEFFICIENT field to a higher value, which resolved many of its oversteer and sensitivty problems), Nate was much faster and more consistent.

Only mod here is the speed limiter being removed. No difference, so, if you're bad driver, then stop telling others, that it's impossible

@@Unreazz while yes there are mods, this car (1965 gto) is actually amazing to drive, if you can control it, and retune it cause the suspension is horrendous but other than that it’s an amazing speed car
