Hub vs mid drive for climbing: mid drives always win. This doesn't mean you can't/shouldn't use a hub for climbing. I have a mid-drive e-mtb and sometimes choose a hub drive instead because of the feel, and I'm talking about mtb trails. Yes I have to pedal on steep inclines, but I find a good hub assist will still do most of the work for me. Between the powerful Bafang and the lighter-weight carbon frame, the Revenant should be an easy bike to pedal up steep trails or hills. My two cents is that it was a great move by Nireeka to go with a powerful hub instead of a mid drive. You get an ebike that is more versatile and less likely to experience drivetrain problems.

Yeah it's a strange bike it looks more XC set up with the lockout on cheap air sprung fork or there just hiding that there's no slow compression dial in the centre? As for a full carbon frame on this type of ebike it doesn't make any sense to me! And a rear hub motor if anything it would have been better with a mid drive or just nothing, I think this could effect sales of this bike it meets absolutely no standards for what people would buy one of these types of emtbs for?! And when he was setting that suspension up oh waw I was hiding behind the cushion haha😂 no sag set or nothing just battered 200psi in and that's hunky dory! Waw! I like this guys video's but when it comes to these types of bikes even at this very low strange entry with carbon frame and a rear float air shock in the rear fusion X he needs to understand these are not like the nasty suspension on these moped type ebikes that are from like 2001 suspension technology!

You heard correctly, the service department is absolutely horrendous! I purchased a Mega this past June and still have not received it! Of course, there’s no telephone service to support so you have to rely on chat and it may take days for them to answer you. At times it seems like my chat would go on forever without an answer, and it seemed like they were giving me the runaround when I would ask about the delivery schedule. I purchased the Mega in June, but it wasn’t until September that Nireeka finally told me the bike was about to be shipped from China and that delivery to me would take about six weeks, or close to the first week in November. It wasn’t until the first weekend in November that Nireeka answered one of my chats about delivery and they said “oh, we’re sorry the people in China forgot to put your bike in the shipping crate so the bike is still in China, and will be another six weeks for delivery!” Well, it’s been another six weeks now and I’m still waiting. Trying to get answers from Nireeka just doesn’t seem to be on the up and up so I sent a chat asking just when did my bike leave China the second time. It took Nireeka five days to answer that chat! The wait continues! This bike could be the best bike in the world but the service department sucks to high-Heaven! The Revenant has been on the market for about two years I believe, and the Mega about one year. Google KZbin and see how many in-depth reviews of these two bikes come up. I’ve seen only a couple for both! That should tell you something. It tells me that either not too many people are buying these bikes, Nireeka is not delivering them, or people are having problems with the bikes!

@@Nireeka Thanks for answering my justified criticism of Nireeka and responding. It is noteworthy that you did not dispute anything I said, and I appreciate your not trying to gloss over the inadequacies that Nireeka faces. I can acknowledge that Nireeka is extremely apologetic as any business should be. However, the question you did not answer is this: When will I receive my bike? When you finally decided to email me with delivery information (after three months of virtual silence after my purchase), you told me, circa September 4, that delivery would be in approximately six weeks, i.e., the first week, November. After your team in China forgot to put my bike in the shipping crate, you told me it would be another six weeks, which would have been about a week ago. Still no bike! Still no tracking email from FedEx (who says they still have not received the bike). This is absolutely unacceptable!

@jamesscott193211 ай бұрын
Agreed. It is short. At 6‘1“ I also have a 34 inch inseam. The problem with being tall or long legged is that the center of gravity gets a lot higher. If you don’t want to go flying over the handlebars unexpectedly, you have to have a bigger frame with a longer wheelbase. An important test that Matt could do would be to ride down the ramp in his garage and crush the front brake near the bottom. How far does the rear wheel lift? Is it sufficient to somersault the bike? That is a real world possibility. I have found the bikes differ dramatically with their propensity to pitch pole. The size and the design of the frame matters just as much as the size of the wheels.

@RAZORWlND11 ай бұрын
Little expensive, but I like the look of that a lot better than the Wired Freedom. Wired Freedom is a 60% mountain bike and with the handlebars and look/feel, 40% bmx. Wired is definitely a hybrid feeling bike. This bike you are reviewing, for me at 5'11", seems like it would be nice all around. More of a mountain bike look and probably feels like one too. At 60v that bafang 1000w would shine! I have put 60v to a few 1000w bafang rear hub motors. Even the bafang G060 750w works great at 60v. Even if this was 52v that bafang would really shine. You don't gain much mph with adding more voltage to the bafang hub motors sadly due to the rpm being already close to max even at 48v. But from 48v to 60v I got about a 3mph-6mph gain top speed 32mph at 48v to 34mph\37mph 52v/60v with 185lb rider weight. Depending on controller, 30 amps is the sweet spot for these bafang hubs. Wouldn't go over 35amp controller, you will just get diminishing gains from my experience.. The acceleration and torque is a lot better with 52v or 60v! Would be worth looking into if it came stock with either of those higher voltages.
