You can't use anguish to make gryphon by its effect you can only go into dark monsters using anguish effect

You can actually set up the line to where you end with Sharvara in hand, Caesar on field with a set Chamber and Rage in grave if you structure the line differently and play 2x Shyama instead of the Disaster. At the point where you just set the Chamber after linking into rage: Use Shyama revive to pop chamber, but instead of summoning Disaster, summon Sarama instead. From there, use Sarama effect to set Chamber and pop rage. Rage effect to add Sharvara back to hand, then use Shyama's on field effect to pop Sarama and summon a 2nd Shyama from deck, then overlay into Caesar. Drawing either or both of your Shyama doesn't kill the combo either because you can just discard one off of Spirit gates and/or summon one off of Sarama.

it's like we're pretending High Wave King Caesar and Beatrice aren't the actual issue, especially with Fiendsmith coming soon allowing every deck to go into it if they commit the ED space, just so the 3 D/D/D players can keep their toy. Summon Sorc is still extremely good, but all the combos related to her right now points to a much bigger issue with the end board and not really her, outside of perhaps Iblee lock (which Sprite also do anyway) and searching a HT via Sangan

I'll be the first to advocate for both getting banned despite D/D and BA being my favorite decks of all time, right after we also deal with the actual issue of Apollo, Baronne, Savage, IP/SP (pick one), Promethean, Accesscode completely invalidating entire archetypes or even mechanics (like Pendulum)

@@babrad Because they are getting doomposted when they aren't even that good. They are not omni negates, nor floodgates. Caesar has only in recency ever been used by Unchained and he's extremely good while also being easy to out. Without Caesar Unchained has no meaningful board to make outside of just.... defaulting to Knightmare Gryphon lock and hoping it works. I do prefer archetype bosses to be stronger than generics, but a lot of the older decks that have weaker in archetype bosses rely heavily on generic extra deck options. If you get rid of Baronne, Appo, etc then a lot of older decks just do nothing meaningful. Pendulum gets hate because the mechanic has always been poorly designed. It's either over engineered and easily hateable, enabling degenerate gameplay, or it's absolutely terrible and folds to a slight breeze. Konami has started getting better in recency though with stuff like Vaylantz and maybe Vaalmonica if they support it correctly. I agree that summon sorc isn't that crazy because the effs are negated so you can't floodgate by handing over Iblee or something of that nature. It will only be useful in excessively complex older combo decks like... Infernity and other jank.
