The judge unintentionally sabotaged this trial from the start by allowing it to be broadcast live. Which is ironic because even now that he has been retired for years he still won't give any interviews or talk about it. That's the way the whole trial should have been - behind closed doors with only transcripts released, like most trials.
@TDKiller415
@TDKiller415 2 жыл бұрын
Thats what Hiroshi Fujisaki did at the civil trial at least, but I loved the fact that OJ's testimony was videotaped. He and Daniel Petrocelli exposed OJ as the liar he truly is. This was EXACTLY why Cochran, Shapiro and Bailey didn't want OJ on the witness stand, because they knew he was guilty and had no alibi, and if Clark and Darden cross-examined him, all of the defence theories would go out of the window. This decision in the civil trial was why OJ lost, was found liable. Even OJ's lawyer, David Baker, described Fujisaki as "a good judge, unbiased and fair."

@TDKiller415

And to this day, some blacks still consider him a bigger hero than Thurgood Marshall, Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks or Barack Obama, just because he got the high and mighty OJ Simpson off for killing two innocent whites and enabled white people to "know how it feels" when racism denies them justice. Thats the religion of "Tit for Tat". Its what they follow.

What Cochran did was based on dishonesty. He didn't defend OJ, he prosecuted the system. In any other trial he would've been ordered to stay with the facts of the case itself, not run his mouth about race and police corruption. Had Ito kept race out of the trial like Hiroshi Fujisaki did in the civil trial, OJ would've had a much weaker chance of walking.

People hate Johnnie Cochran because he is evil. His entire defense was built on lies and deception. @@nitroburner1838 Actually it was for a fictionalised screenplay, and there was evidence to prove that in October 1994 Fuhrman worked hard to exonerate Arrick Harris, a black man who was accused of murdering a white man in a drive by shooting. Fuhrman even cited a book by an ex cop in which he used the n-word countless times but he was never labelled a racist. Check out Vincent Bugliosi's video about the case where he disproves everything the defence says and at the same time points out the dreadful mistakes the prosecution made regarding the evidence they could've presented to condemn OJ and defend Fuhrman and the LAPD's credibility. Even if Fuhrman was racist, it doesn't mean OJ is not guilty. He literally admitted on the tape that he cut himself the same night as the murder (and said he didn't know how), and he never once accused the police of pursuing the wrong man or setting him up, AND he gave several contradicting alibis. i can see why a prosecutor would be annoyed by johnnie cochran's actions. Contrary to popular belief, Criminal prosecution and defense are not at each other's throats. The process is adversarial, but it doesn't have to be hostile. The defense and prosecution are there for the same reason: justice. Both sides should want the perpetrator of the serious crime to be brought to justice. Cochran's actions shows us he wasn't concerned about justice, he was concerned about clout and winning. When a lawyer like this is only concerned with winning, the community loses. the prosecution did their due diligence. if it was any other case, the defense would advise their client to take a plea. Cochran is given too much credit to being a good "lawyer". he's a dirty huckster and charlatan.

Two great stories for American Crime Story would be the case of Pamela Smart, the teacher who seduced a student to kill her husband, and the Presidency of Donald Trump.

LOL and OMG, that was complete and utter bullshit. The ONLY thing resembling the truth is the line "this case is a circus". Everything else was complete and utter bullshit. Just like the entire series. Fiction.

EasyThere Pilgrim did you expect a line by line recreation of what happened? What exactly would be the point of that when people can simply do a quick KZbin search and find the actual footage. It’s called a dramatization for a reason.

Mistah Jay Thank you. Like...I don’t even understand that comment. This wasn’t a documentary, nor did it claim to be.

It's a TV SHOW. WTF do you think was going to happen? Go watch the real thing.

This is so overdramatized. There was no screaming and yelling like this. And Darden said Ito was trying NOT to allow defence to turn it into a circus. Not what he says here. TV garbage.

I'm also surprised that a TV drama is dramatized. Outrageous!
