I loved checking out the civil war battle fields while driving down the east coast to move to New Orleans in ‘85. Wonderful history and people

Here we go again we got woke up by tornado sirens at 5:30 this morning. There were no storms anywhere near us. They were all North of us. That would be a good place to visit . You could find out so much from visiting. Prayers 🙏 and Love 🤟 From Ginger

10 minutes from my house. I had went there 16 years ago. After the movie was over I had walked out into the gift shop. there was a lady talking to an older gentleman who was working the counter. She had remarked how after the soldiers played their music together she would have offered the North a cup of coffee and talked with them. The older gentleman said he would never offer the North a cup of coffee. I moved here from Michigan. I just turned around and walked out and waited for the group of people I was with to come out.

What an awesome trip? It's sad to think about all the men and women that lost. their lives. and some are buried in unmarked graves. Thank you for taking us on this tour. It's been a while since the last time I was there.

I live in Pa very close to Gettysburg. I remember going there a lot as a kid and playing on the battlefields. My mom and dad would take us there for day vacations in the summertime and we would climb All over Devils Den. Fun fun fun!!!

I've been watching Grant and then Lee & Grant.. So much about the Western TN, battles Shiloh, Vicksburg, Ms. So many lives lost in these battles. Then how Grant moved East! Missionary Ridge... Sherman thru GA. A war that should have ended sooner. So many lives. And we can't learn from history. No one wants to learn from the past. 10's of thousand in these battles, were lost, maimed.

Gettysburg had the largest impact in the change of the war. I always call the battle of Midway in WW2 the Gettysburg of the war.

You should take a listen to the song JOSEPHINE by JOEY+RORY. It's from a letter(s) a confederate soldier wrote to his wife.

Just a general question... are there still ill feelings between the northerners and southerners? I have always lived in the north and not really traveled much, so I haven't noticed any issues here.

Not enough worth mentioning. 99.9% have moved on from that.
