Welcome to the Chicago area! You'll start to learn different locations of thrift stores that will crazy mark up athletic sneakers, but will price athletic brand sandals decent lol. Not sure what area you are in, but Chicago has a ton of climbing gyms to try: Vertical Endeavors, Brooklyn Boulders, First Ascent, and Movement. I've been in the south suburbs for a number of years now.

I resell men's clothing full time in Chicago (technically the suburbs but I'm walking distance from the city border). The Goodwills here are all rpetty reasonable. You'll run into occasional over priced items here and there like anywhere else. The major downside is that the nearest "bins" location is in Gary, IN and I believe south Milwaukee.

@@ReadySetResell I believe the Milwaukee one is a brand new store. Chicagoland area and southern Wisconsin is all one Goodwill district. Northwest Indiana, including the Gary outlet is a separate district. (I've actually worked at a Goodwill in both districts lmao). NW Indiana Goodwills are very hit or miss and more likely to be overpriced or sometimes just straight up half empty. It's a gamble going out that way but sometimes it's a nice change of pace.

Yeah unfortunately we don't have the bin stuff. It's very competitive here. I've lived in the city for 10 years and I see about 80% of the folks in the goodwill here are resellers. Especially clothing it's really what most people are going through. That and video games.

I just saw your most recent vegas video and you said "up in chicago." I said "uh wha??" I haven't watched reselling videos in a while, so I wasn't caught up on your move. I'm up in Milwaukee. If you're ever heading to the GW outlet in Pleasant Prairie, shout out. I went there often until they opened one that's a little less hectic about 10 min closer to me in the other direction. I've spent a decent amount of time in Chicago, not thrifting, but it's def a big city feeling, even compared to Milwaukee, but there's great neighborhoods and always a food festival or art fair going on. And lots of flea markets. Always wanted to try to Rosemont one. Anyway, I'm Mandy; just saying welcome to the (sorta) area!
