Nope, those cheaters were right since the first OW 1 launch, only back then they were staying mostly inside the metal ranks but, now after so many years of experience, those cheaters have been greatly improved. Also, as great cheating encouragement is, the teams (except the top 500) having at least one cheater amongst them are so enjoying being carried by those cheaters.

Dunno if you knew (probably did), but Mercy had a similar issue to Torb. It worked best on Attack on Paraiso, they fixed it now though, I think. Basically, if you crouched in the right spot, the game would respawn you as if you'd fallen out of bounds. If you did this enough times or just right, for whatever reason, her pistol would combine with her staff and it would hard lag the server.

She doesnt. The Mercy bug is actually caused by Mercy, Torb is only being used because his turret isnt affected by lag. Torb isnt actually causing it unlike Mercy

Okay so hear me out... I have one year left and I will have my degree in cyber security. And what I've learned so far from years of doing programming and deciding to go back for cyber security made me realize that there are different types of hackers. I'm curious if he's doing this for fun or if he's actually hired by someone to do this. I know that sounds crazy, but you'd be surprised how many rival companies will hire people like this or if someone has a personal vendetta against the game or if he just thinks it's a blast and likes breaking games. This is the same glitch that Mercy had a few seasons ago. When a character has an alternate weapon and you somehow manage to combine those two into one, it lags the server from all the errors.

I actually don't think it is a torb specific thing. I'm pretty sure they just pick torb because while the server is lagging the turret inputs still happen and will just kill everyone and win the fights. It's why he goes to point and just throws a turret down that proceeds to kill 3 people. I don't think the lag and server crashing is caused by the character. The character just makes the idea 'work". But at the same time the hammer and gun out at the same time is similar to a mercy bug from before so it may actually be the character. Just doesn't seem that way to me because the mercy bug required both her pistol and staff to be out simultaneously the entire time the server would lag.

I don’t think torb is causing the lag so much as he is literally the only character that can have the game be played for them. If you look at when he’s sitting on 4th point you can see that the only thing killing people is the turret. Just a guess but that’s what it seems like to me, at least.

I think the way you are going about bringing notice to the problem is correct. I think it helps two fold. One the more public it is the more likely blizzard will have to prioritize a fix. Two it helps the community know what to look for when something is sus in their games too and to report it.

I had a server lag out like this FOUR MONTHS AGO. Unfortunately the replay expired or I'd link it (it was BN94VM). Server lagged out, kicked everyone off except 2 people on both teams, I was actually able to keep playing 2v2 and finish the game. Escort map, the replay said it was a draw even though it also said 0-2 just like your replay did, except it told me it was a win when the game ended and gave me rank for it. So nothing agreed, from my POV it was a win, from the replay POV it said the word draw but gave a 0-2 score as if it were a loss. It makes me wonder if the DDOSer can keep playing and still get a win even when they crash everyone out of the server. I think the cheater was on the other team, but the 2v2 was 2 supports against 2 dps so we had a big advantage and won anyways after everyone else was kicked out. I can't guarantee it was the same thing, I didn't notice whether there was a torb or not and can't go back to check, but this issue may have existed long before 1 month ago.

That is different and something that just happens sometimes. It's annoying, but every game has those hiccups where some players get kicked from a server while others maintain connection. Obviously, some games struggle with it more than others, but it is 99% of the time not influenced by the players in the game. What you describe is unlikely to have been a cheater and more likely to have been an issue with overwatch servers at that time.

We are on what, 2 or 3 seasons now with no repercussions to cheating in OW2. It's in a very sad state at this point. You can rarely get a game without a cheater, and all the players can do is "report" it to a bot that sends back a thank you in a day or 2. It's getting harder and harder to want to keep playing this game.

I can't even play the game anymore. Cheaters were a big issue, but then as of last week almost every single game I get disconnected from the server. If I don't get kicked I deal with horrific lag. Doesn't matter if it's comp or arcade, it always happens. I've done all of the troubleshooting steps and it did absolutely nothing. It's only Overwatch. All other online games I play run smoothly and don't drop.

This cheater probablem actually has gotten out of hand. In the past 2 years I didnt get a single cheater or at least not obvious one but just within the last 2 weeks I had 3 full hardlocking rage hackers and 1 soft locking cheater. I don't know if the torb thing is still in the game but I hope blizzard at least fixxed that by now but they still really need to do smth bc this is not helping their game at all

I haven't played OW since OW1 was sunset. I played OW 2 for like a week and then never played it again. I don't miss it.

I have a theory since torb has two different weapons they could be swaping so fast that it overloads the code and lags the game.
