Honestly, I'm not really impressed by just how much better Stockfish is, I'm somehow more impressed by the fact that Fritz can resign. I've never seen a bot resign before. So yeah, props to Fritz for trying his best, and not wasting his opponents' time when he's alread lost.

To me it's crazy that Fritz was beaten twice by Kramnik back in 2002, but now only a short 19 years later, no human is even close to Stockfish even when starting with a material advantage. Also the Magnus App on your phone is also programed to resign which is a feature I feel like most bots should have !!

Any version of Stockfish running on my computer will play 1. d4 between depth 24-35. On cloud analysis, it starts favouring 1. d4 over anything after depth 34. "1. e4 is best by test" is a myth propagated by a human (Bobby Fischer) who would be destroyed by Stockfish within twenty moves no matter which first move it played.
