He just created a bunch of disorganized crime though. Because that's what joker is: Chaos. Organized crime actually has a purpose in society as it can often keep itself in line. Just look to Mexico's drug trade with the myriad of cartels for example. The violence over there has got much worse over the last several decades because of how chaotic it has become.

Not exactly. Batman explained it. He choses goones that he can easily manipulate. As much as he likes to present himself as an agent of chaos, he's more like a performer. He makes plans. Lots of them. They are more like plays scripts. He prepares the stage, chose the right gears, hires the right crew to help him, who he mades also part of the audience...That's a wise choice sometimes. He knows his art: I refuse not to aknowledge this 😂. And he can improvise too for sure. He's not driven by greed and thirst for power, that is correct. But he have a goal. The fact that said goal are meaningless destruction, death, fear, makes him more unpredictable.

Joker is a cool character with cool quotes like this but there's no depth in his character unlike Joaquin's who had much more complex character. I think people are just afraid to criticize or mention any flaw about Ledger's Joker just because you know......
@user-fu7zf4ck9z4 жыл бұрын
@@desipop3654 This joker is much more complex than Arthur Fleck. He is a nihilist who wants to teach "society" a lesson that results in anarchy and chaos. This joker also has a mysterious background story (most likely a former soldier) that clearly traumatized him to the point that he no longer cares about pretty much anything except his "message" and by caring about nothing he ironically cares about everything, because he fails to realize that he DOES have a plan. The 2019 Joker is an interesting character for sure, but not at all a good "Joker" (He's the joker for about 3 minutes in the movie). Arthur Flecks characterization is clear but still very profound, does however not compare to the 2008 Joker, that still to this day is the most in-depth interpretation of the comic book villain. The Joker from TDK is seemingly a master psychologist. He knew he couldn't get the mob to trust him after having stolen some of their money if they didn't think he had rational motivations. And to them, money is the only rational motivation. So he mirrored their own motivations to appeal to them. They were so blinded by their own motivations that they couldn't see what Joker actually was. Joker also knew that Batman was the main concern, so he could voice that knowing they didn't think that. So that when they finally realized Batman was the main concern, not the police, they would trust his judgement moreso than they would have otherwise.

Its because the joker understood criminals better than anyone else. He took what they loved most (money) and burned it right in front of there eyes. Probably giving them some sort of mental breakdown with it. Also becuae he's smart. The moment the mob realized what the joker could accomplish they all followed him. This man is a geniusm
@kaiz18453 жыл бұрын
First, the Joker had no problems killing the people who need to die. Second, the Joker worked from within the mafia, mobilizing(and thereby exposing) all the important sleeper agents they have planted in the government/police force. He basically blew all the resource and manpower the mob had in those few weeks to kill a few replaceable government clerks and worthless civilians, of course the mob is fucked after that.

Aaron is definitely underrated, Heath obviously shadows everybody with his performance. It helps that we don't really have any other live action two face actors. But not just being the villain, but portraying the true tragedy of Harvey Dent: a man on the right side of the law who wanted to save Gotham and was doing it. Gotham needed Batman but he could never be what Dent was, Batman will always be a vigilante, something scary, urban legend esque which helped get the ball rolling, but the city needed a white knight as well as a dark knight. But seeing him be broken and reduced like he was is the true horror of it. And the choice to have the joker be the one to break him was far more brilliant than the origin story of the mob doing it IMO. Thematically it makes more sense and makes the whole story even more tragic.

@@GeorgiaAndrea the counterargument (to that utilitarian position) is that over the longer haul, more people will flourish in a culture where absolute principle is really strong i.e. someone who has such strong principles that they won't kill one even to save a hundred (i.e. they treat every living being as a sacred end in itself, and won't resort to "means to an end" thinking), you perpetuate that level of principledness throughout a culture over a long enough span of time and you end up with a paradisiacal land of moral saints with a murder rate of 0. Also, there's the whole being unable to know the consequences of actions, so we might as well just live by principles. The Dark Knight is truly the greatest and most quotable comic book movie of all time. Here’s few of the legendary quotes: *Joker:* _They need you right now, but when they don't, they'll cast you out-like a leper. See, their morals, their "code"…it's a bad joke, dropped at the first sign of trouble. They're only as good as the world allows them to be. I'll show you, when the chips are down, these-ah-"civilised people"? They'll eat each other. See, I'm not a monster. I'm just ahead of the curve._ *Harvey Dent:* _You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain._ *Alfred:* _Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn._ *Joker:* _You know what I've noticed? Nobody panics when things go "according to plan". Even if the plan is horrifying. If, tomorrow, I tell the press that, like, a gang banger will get shot, or a truckload of soldiers will be blown up, nobody panics, because it's all "part of the plan". But when I say that one little old mayor will die, well then everyone loses their minds!_ *Joker:* _Do you want to know why I use a knife? Guns are too quick. You can't savor all the... little emotions. In... you see, in their last moments, people show you who they really are. So in a way, I know your friends better than you ever did. Would you like to know which of them were cowards?_ *Batman:* _Sometimes the truth isn't good enough, sometimes people deserve more. Sometimes people deserve to have their faith rewarded._ *Jim Gordon:* _Because he's the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So, we'll hunt him, because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. _*_He's a silent guardian. A watchful protector. A Dark Knight._* *Lucius Fox:* _Let me get this straight. You think that your client, one of the wealthiest, most powerful men in the world, is secretly a vigilante who spends his nights beating criminals to a pulp with his bare hands; and your plan, is to _*_blackmail_*_ this person? Good luck._ *Joker:* _Oh, you. You just couldn't let me go, could you? This is what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object. You truly are incorruptible, aren't you? You won't kill me out of some misplaced sense of self-righteousness. And I won't kill you because you're just too much fun. I think you and I are destined to do this forever._ *Joker:* _Introduce a little anarchy. Upset the established order and everything becomes chaos. I'm an agent of chaos. Oh, and you know thing about chaos...it's fair._

In the end though, the Joker lost. It wasnt Batman or Dent or the lie that caused that, the Joker lost because of the boats. The Joker’s purpose was to disprove what Batman’s philosophy was. Wayne believes that everyone in the city is or can be a good person, but has never been given the chance, never had a life free of the Mob. The Joker however, sees this inversely. He believes everybody can be pushed to the brink of where him and Dent go. To prove that he can make monsters out of the people Bruce believes are innocent, he tries to get the civilians to blow each other up. However, they don’t. In doing so, Gotham disproves the philosophies of Joker, Ras Al Ghul, and Bane, all at once.
