How inspiring is this story!!! Oh my goodness I just love it!! I completely understand what the sweet mayor is saying about the negativity that he used to hear. In my small lake town, that many families came to visit, there is so much complaining going on! Someone tried to do what Nancy has done, but no one wanted to jump in and volunteer their time!! Uhhhg 😣🙄So, that wonderful idea fell through 😔 Every town needs a Nancy to help educate their community, and get people excited about investing in their time. You can see the pride and joy that the residents of Castle Rock have, and it’s so beautiful and heartwarming 🥰❤️❤️

The best thing is the involvement of the students! LOVE the greenhouses, which every school should have! So much to learn about growing beautiful flowers and vegetables!!!! Very valuable lessons for self and community!

So inspiring. Any small town that encourages their citizens to tidy, plant and maintain the common city spaces shows such pride in their community. I’m from KS originally and Fort Scott is an example of city with American pride. It’s the home of the USA’s first national cemetery. It looks like a replica of Arlington National Cemetery. 7,000 or so citizens that have hanging baskets and beautiful planters throughout the town. So heart warming. Thank you Janey. I hope this inspires more communities to do the same. ❤

What a beautiful story! I love everything about this small town. I live about 45 miles away from Castle Rock and have always thought it is such a cute, sweet little town that takes great pride in their town. But I never knew the whole story. I am touched and proud of the Castle Rock community and all the many hands that work together to bring such beauty for ALL of us to enjoy!

Hi Janey 👋 I fell in love with Nancy when Kate interviewed/visited her gardens. Her energy and excitement is wonderful. Thank you for sharing this story with us. Life would be so much better if everyone could do this. In such a busy crazy time in life, the saying "stop and smell the roses" always comes to mind. Planting beautiful flowers, trees and shrubs are such a relaxing moment many dont experience. I really LOVE that the school's are involved. Every place needs a Nancy in their lives. What a beautiful little town, what a beautiful place to live. 😍

Thinking of you while I was cleaning a giant pot that was turned into a water feature. I used your hint to bang the pump when it stopped working. The front cover came off. I didn't know that there was a foam filter inside. Full of algae. Yuck. Once cleaned the pump worked great. I had to do this again four months later. The pump hadn't stopped, but the flow was reduced by at least 80%. Now working great!
