I just pruned my magnolia tree, being upset that it didn't produce enough flowers... I never knew that it was medicinal!🤯 Thank God, the branches are still by the tree, I am going to collect a ton of bark tomorrow!😂 ❤Thank you very much for your information!❤ I've been paying big bucks for valerian root to make calming tinctures to lower my blood pressure & anxiety. I am switching to magnolia, oh yeah!🎉

Big leaf magnolia is my favorite and the umbrella magnolia comes in a close second. I used to have an old patch of umbrella magnolias that grew next to a stream on my property that I would sit under for hours. You can’t beat a big leaf magnolia when it’s in flower too.

It's amazing that I've never heard of this before. I've researched herbs for a long time and magnolia was never mentioned once. I knew I had a very large 30+ foot fraser magnolia or the cucumber tree on my property. I've also been able to identify the sweetbay and collected the flower buds. Now is the perfect time to find this video. I've had a tone of joint pain neck and back for years and felt it is digestive related. Thanks for your work to bring this information back to light. Much appreciated.

@@LegacyWildernessAcademy I'll update with the progress while taking the herb. Only been a few days but I've seen some pretty interesting results. @LegacyWildernessAcademy
@LegacyWildernessAcademy 7 ай бұрын
@@paulofthewoods0787 I should mention that if you feel it's digestive related you should also look into yucca root and greenbriar/smilax root. Both are used for joint pain, but they work differently than magnolia. They have saponins that bind to toxins in the gut and prevent them from being absorbed, reducing the toxin load on the body and helping with inflammation. Make a combo tincture with all 3 and I bet it would work wonders.

@@LegacyWildernessAcademy very cool. I do sometimes eat greenbrier and every once in a while I'll get an allergic reaction similar to shrimp which I'm also allergic too. Same with lambs quarter. Doesn't happen all the time though. I tend to think there is more going on there than a simple allergy. Maybe not a bad thing at all.

I live in Utah very far from where this plant grows. Do you know anywhere online selling sweet bay magnolia bark? Everything online seems to be for other magnolia species.

How long should the bark steep in the Everclear? For arthritic joint pain I found that taking 1⁄2 tablespoon to a tablespoon of gelatin powder In my coffee or hot tea day daily keeps my pain controlled. I forgot to bring some when we went to stay with our grandchildren for 4 days, and when we came back I was hurting. A couple of days of the gelatin and I'm already almost back to normal. Everyone's body works differently, but this really helps me.

Another person you might want to watch regarding making tinctures is KZbin channel "She is of the Woods" she talks about how to make tinctures with 80-proof compared to other higher proofs of alcohol just thought this might be helpful she talks a lot about herbs and how to make them into tinctures as well

Do you combine you flower and bark tinctures? And do they both serve our body in the same manner?

The flower buds are specifically indicated for allergies and asthma in Traditional Chinese Medicine, but the bark/flowers/green seed cones probably have all of the same uses. The main thing I use is the bark and seed cones mixed together.
