do the same check it's speed and health, if it's fragmented too much optimize it
@Chikowski101Ай бұрын
Atleast something's trying it's 100%😂
@KOrnhOliO1Ай бұрын
Never let your HDD get to 100%! The HDD tries to move files around to make programs run more efficiently and optimize how it runs. But when there is no space, at 100%, there's no room for the HDD to move files around and it becomes completely bogged down. First thing to do, move lots of files to another drive. I try to not fill my HDD to 75%. That leaves plenty of space for the HDD to optimize itself. If you take away that space, it has nowhere to optimize itself. It's all clogged up. Once you get many files moved to another HDD, you can defrag the HDD and it will optimize. It will now run more efficiently! 👍
@KOrnhOliO1Ай бұрын
@@kilObitcan't optimize well if it's at 100%. Need to move files to another drive so the HDD has room to move files around and get efficient. 100% means it's all clogged up.
@KOrnhOliO1Ай бұрын
@@Chikowski101No, 100% means it's plum full. Can't even really try to optimize if it can't move files around because it's completely full. You need space for it to move files around, optimize, and then be efficient again... And much faster.
@GehMemoriesАй бұрын

@KOrnhOliO1Ай бұрын
@@GehMemoriesDrives are too full to optimize well. The drive needs blank space to fully optimize and become efficient. Move a bunch of files off that drive and on to another. If you only have 2 drives and both are over about 75%, you either need to buy another drive, or you need to delete some of your files that are making both drives over 75% full. Notice when he shows his drives in Windows and how all of them are at about 50% capacity. That's great! The drives have plenty of free space to move files around and optimize themselves and become efficient again. By letting your drives get past about 75%, they no longer have the free space left to optimize fully and become efficient again. Keep drives at less than 75% so they can do that well. 👍

What makes my Win10 slow, terribly slow, is when it wants to install updates. It literally makes me unable to function until I let it do it. And that after I configured it that I want to manually control downloading updates and their installing, which it reminds me almost every day that there are updates available. It does this slowing down less often now than it did before I configured it this way, but I still notice, from time to tie, the icon in the bottom right corner, that it wants to install and then reboot. Loading a website takes at least half a minute if I don't and everything is very slow. Dictatorship, if you ask me.
@KOrnhOliO1Ай бұрын
Look at how much space is left on your SSD. If it's over about 75% full, it has very little space to move files around to optimize itself. Never fill your drives up past about 75% full. Notice in this video when he shows his drives with the horizontal bar graph? That bar graph shows how full his drives are. Notice how they are all at about 50%... That's great! The drives have plenty of space to move files around to optimize and get very efficient and much faster. If it is over 75%, then move a bunch of files to another drive to give it room to optimize and move files around, so it's efficient again.

@@KOrnhOliO1 I still have hdd in that machine. I have just over 400GB data on that 1TB disk, plus OS. I had this issue when I had below 300GB data on it, too. But don't worry, it also has nvme and that has Linux. After Win10 losts support I'll swap hdd for 4TB ssd sata for storage. I have already converted one ex Win11 laptop to LMDE and another ancient ex vista one to Wilma. Done with the MS shenanigans. Win11 will be only running from a usb if absolutely necessary.
