The Steam Deck is probably the best portable console on the market and you can even play modded Minecraft on it, Minecraft may have declined in updates/optimization but at least future generations can play what was once great on better hardware, without the old community aspect I guess. I'll probably buy a Steam Deck eventually. Now people can play Reconsole on the Steam Deck

In my opinion, steam deck is best because it offers feature to install any application that supports linux, while (many) other consoles lock you into using their app stores and become (a bit) bricked on defaults after they shut down app stores

Since Legacy Console is an official version of Minecraft, I'd say they are closer to making a Minecraft 2.0 than Hytale is, since they made the original versions of Minecraft that the majority once played. Hopefully they actually release something, 4J gets a pass in my book for taking this long because they were likely forced to retire by Microsoft and they did their job to it's fullest during their era. They aren't morally obligated to get anything out until they start making promises and get people's hopes up. By the way I do want to also say: Notch was forced to sign an agreement to not make a survival game/game similar to Minecraft for two years after he sold it but he is legally allowed to make any game he wants, I know it isn't even an argument/discussion why 4J took this long to make their own voxel engine/game however, it's clear 4J had a contract with Mojang and while it was originally made pre-Microsoft era, I wouldn't be shocked if Microsoft paid them a good sum of money to terminate the agreement or to not make anything for a period of time. On that wikipedia list I showed in the video, their last game other than Minecraft was made in 2010, in other words, they spent a full 6 years not releasing or barely updating any new edition of Minecraft or any game at all. However I am shocked they pushed updates out until 2019 because console was replaced with pocket edition in late 2017, I guess it was optional for a period of time.

These guys originally made Minecraft Legacy Edition and they are making a new voxel game, 4J's Minecraft was the definition of Minecraft Console and many see it as the superior version for plenty of reasons. This isn't a continuation of the official legacy edition, it's a continuation of 4J's vision/interpretation of Minecraft under a different name and with different textures for copyright reasons. People called Hytale the next Minecraft or Minecraft 2.0, I think the people who are the most qualified to make Minecraft 2.0 are the people who showed they were beyond competent at making the official versions of Minecraft, that's why it's titled this.
