Hey Simon! That's also exactly how we all feel in StackBlitz working on it 😅 Thanks for recording this and sharing your excitement! What a great demo 🔥

How did you get the Simple Browser tab to show?

It's great, but I'm not sure it would qualify as epic. I mean, VS Code is open source and a web app, it's a great work to have it directly available to work on a web app, but I'm missing what is "epic" about it?
@jonathanbennett8132 жыл бұрын
The way it automatically imports and runs a GitHub project for you. That's a big time-saver.

And VSC isn’t open source Only a part of it is open source

Wow. This is insane! People think mobile dev would be the future, but now actually web dev is the future

One advantage is that, the github link with your tutorials can be instantly entertained online. 😆. Without going through cloning, building and running locally.

Never thought about it but agree!

I think it will go to paid program for advanced user. I saw Joshua Morony wrote a script to create a sandbox to quickly create angular project and github repo eventually. Code flow can provide this whole flow with its api and cli.

Just wondering, in terms of security. How secure is it to code in the browser in stead of on a local host?
@galaxies_dev2 жыл бұрын
AFAIK it's not sending every keystroke to a server as you can also kill network and continue using it, so it's basically running locally!

Is there any difference between this and CodeSandbox which has been out for a while. Can’t wait to test it out but looks like Codeflow doesn’t work on Safari. Disappointing for me since I only use Safari 😢
@rundtmeg2 жыл бұрын
I thought the same 😮
@doddledev78332 жыл бұрын
I absolutely see the benefits of Codeflow. But do you guys don't/never use containers (or just locally) with your DB-servers in? This webcontainers don't have access to your local network (and your local containers) right? So you have to make them available on the world wide web? We're using this "stack" in almost every application.

Thank you for this reaction video! I have just reviewed and merged a few PRs with Codeflow 💕

So does this app mean we do not have to worry about changing node versions? I currently use nvm but i could see this being easier if it means no worries about node versions
@galaxies_dev2 жыл бұрын
Good point, yeah you certainly don't need to care about your local node version!

Let check the limitation (e.g. "local" database)

But I can't see any of my favourite plugins??? Seems extremely limited in terms of VScode.....

bro this is kinda old, you can also get into any github repository and press the "dot" key in your keyboard, you'll get redirected to the browser version of vs code.
@larryshmuck2 жыл бұрын
In the dot key / browser version of vs code, you don't have any terminal or ability to run extensions.

Does it support the language servers that are not written in JavaScript? Probably not. That's why it is not useful as you advertise it. GitHub already had this, and it didn't get much attention. Press `.` in any repo.
