This Could Be Bad!

In this video I am fishing for catfish without using any sonar or electronics. Basically I am fishing blind attempting to locate catfish using only the basic mapping that is one my cell phone. Fishfinders are a vital tool for anglers fishing from a boat, and when your fish finder is not working it can greatly hider your confidence on the water. The Lowrance HDS12 Live sonar unit I run is a great fish finding tool, so when it is not working it can be challenging to my confidence.

I actually stopped using fish finders altogether. So much of my catfishing is in shallow water I finally just quit taking it. Instead I use a Garmin GPS and mark all catches with a GPS then I focus on those spots.

Great day of fishing!!!!! I had a parasitic power draw on my truck a few years back that kept draining my battery, I finally found and fixed the draw but it had damaged my battery to the point that if you didn't start it every day it would go dead. My charger was 25 years old so I took a gamble and bought one of the new fancy chargers and did a reconditioning cycle on the battery. To my shock it worked great and I got two more years out of that battery. I still have my doubts about how often reconditioning a battery will actually work, but if you have the ability its worth a try.

I got an intex inflatable boat and trolling motor for $500, me and my buddy can both sith on comfortably in lawn chairs. Just get some HH 66 for patch repair if you ever get one. You can also use the HH 66 to install rod holders on it

As much as you are on the water go all lithium except for starting battery. I am on water 3-4 times a week and went all lithium last year and it has been great. I normally replaced batteries every 2 yrs, not anymore. Price has dropped enough on them that it is so much more cost effective over long run with most of them having at least a 7-10 yr warrantee. Not to mention you don't damage them by running them down to under 40% before recharging, and the constant power till they hit 10% left on most brands. Quick charging is a major plus too with a 4 hr full charge on most.

There is a lot more competition among lithium battery brands and that, as you stated, has brought the price down. They’re still not cheap, and the long term gain remains to be seen, but so far there are some nice perks if you have the disposable income to purchase them.

Ride is a LOT a better in rough water. Of course there is more room, but it two feet bigger. The auto deploying motor is awesome, until it quits working anyway….😜😜🤣😆

My skiff is a 2007 and I believe the Lund is a 2002 hull with a mid 2000’s Honda motor

I put a 24v for the trolling motor. That battery, by EPOCH, has worked flawlessly. This other 12v battery....well, stay tuned on that.

I'm thinking about putting together the stuff to build my own pontoon boat. People sell those 55 gallon metal drums with lids for pretty cheap and a company called total boat makes a expanding boat foam epoxy kinda stuff. I figure a couple barrels and a couple gallons of that foam stuff would get me floating pretty good then just build a frame from aluminum.
