Wrong...not only was the brakes shot, they were in an old civic in which are manuals. Easiest thing for his friend to do would have been downshift rather than try to brake...the E-Brake would lock the tires and cause it to swerve and spin out

Luna when in a situation like this hopefully it never happens again but put the car in a lower gear WiFi will slow down the car for when going downhill. It will say like 1 or 2 or have a picture of a car going downhill. One more thing to add in general when going downhill for anyone driving downhill try driving in a lower gear to reduce brake use so you’ll don’t lose your brakes while driving.
