The whole thing about Goku being chained is a reference to Sun Wukong, the inspiration for Goku, got betrayed and trapped by the Jade Court, aka the Gods of chinese mythos So haveing the gods trap goku is a reference to that

I also love how in this manga Gohan finally addressed the idea that Gohan does not have to pick one or the other I always thought it was dumb. If he cut his training time in half to study he would still be capable enough to be on Goku’s level at the very least.

4:05 One piece of Belmod lore that I don't see people talking about a lot, is the fact that he was a pride trooper before coming a God of Destruction. Not much is known about what his time was like as a Pride Trooper, but based on the illustration, we can guess that he quit being one seemingly out of frustration. Edit: This also brings up the question is if the Pride Trooper squad itself are where a lot of God of Destruction candidates come from in that universe. I think the current God of Destruction and the future one, Toppo, both being from the Pride Troopers might indicate that this is a reacquiring thing. People joining the Pride Troopers and the strongest among them, who are willing, becoming Gods of Destruction.

I actually would enjoy this direction for dragon ball. Like If Dragon Ball went from Shounen to seinen I'd Be all for it because it would mean the development and maturation of the series just like we the fans have undergone. Now I understand the opinion to keep the show lighthearted and enjoyable but a darker dragonball with bigger stakes feels more right at least to me. Though that's with all the characters keeping what makes them. "Them" if that makes sense.

Kinda wish u watched the original uncoloured manga...the art style and quality of illustrations are through the roof there. That being said, glad sage is on kakumei train and the colored version is still fire ofc. I'd still recommend looking up the original panels in ur free time just to appreciate how incredibly detailed they are.

This wouldve been great as Canon, Lot of other Characters n I mean a, LOT! Like, Every damn character lol, Gets shine without typical, Goku, Vegeta, Gogeta, Vegito Universe Saviors, And it allows for situations to get dire, All hope seems lost, Then a pissed off Goku shows up just in time to tag team with UE Vegeta, Beasthan, Orange Piccolo or as I like to call him Tangillo or Gingillo, SSB Broly, Full Power Jiren, Hakaishin Toppo, SSB Gotenks, UI Kefla, Full Power Hit, And more, The All Out Battle Royale vs Final Boss/Bosses Gods of Destructions and their Angels as Grand Priest takes on his ol lady and at no point do we get a fumbled Zeno conclusion… And we dive deeper into other Universes including Universes that werent in ToP? Id be more than happy if got something like this canonically but First off Canon is unfortunately from here on out is out the window if DBS continues which Id bet it does, But even if Toryiama Sensei was still around Id never see him doing something like This exactly, Idk maybe if he built up to this then this was a very short single arc at end of a long multi Arc Season, Like last maybe long as ToP but this Imo would only work best as a Long Term Story Line considering the diversity of stuff going on with such Massive diversity of characters, But again I would/wouldve loved something of this caliber in main franchise Canon or not…
