originally came here to watch the flying car take off and land, but didn't even know how it worked. well done.

It's scary enough having teens on the road in cars. I'll pass on having them constantly fly over my house.

It's been well published for like 3 years that most VTOLs will be self driving. So don't worry about humans crashing
@RealisticRobot17 күн бұрын
@@rowshambow, that means absolutely nothing. Teslas have been "self driving" yet still crash into things. Atleast they're bound to roads.
@rowshambow16 күн бұрын
@RealisticRobot so have humans. And its also well published that the ratio of crashes caused by humans will be greater than autonomous vehicle crashes within a couple of years. Waymo is already proven to be safer than humans. Is this your first day? Look it up

@@rowshambow, the entire point of my comment was not wanting traffic over my house. Kick rocks.

Pretty CGI. given what we observe with others, a year out, there would be physical test with actual flight video.

Looks like a great idea for a drone or small aircraft. Biggest issues I see are a lack of thrust/lift and maintenance. This concept will never be usable for large aircraft

I think the success will depend on how loud the vehicle is 🤔

Yeah anyone can push out CG garbage lets see a real demo.

They've already built a flying prototype with 4 cyclo rotors shown fully working.😊
@Roshank23115 күн бұрын
@pdtech4524 Yeah, I've now seen the video. It's extremely loud (though props on them for not just muting the audio like other startups in this field) and does not look very refined in movement or ready for real word use. It's definitely an interesting design, perhaps useful on a smaller scale for drones, but I really don't see mass adoption in this.
@pdtech452415 күн бұрын
@Roshank231 They seem to be heavily investing in it. Maybe with the 2 additional cyclo rotors along the central axis as per this CGI concept, it will be more stable? I think it could have it's niche uses, in military or rescue or delivery of urgent medical supplies, in remote or congested areas where helicopters wouldn't be possible or making the journey by road might not be possible, due to traffic or natural events such as in a flood or earthquake situation etc
@robertflowers538914 күн бұрын
Actually, not even close. 3D animation like this is produced by skilled professionals and is very time consuming.
@rossnolan7283Ай бұрын
Cyclorotors are a real thing but inevitably very poor in cruise due to the minimal streamtube of air involved.

I won't fly in anything that doesn't have wings not even a helicopter well technically it does have a wing
@MasterMayhem7826 күн бұрын
The rotors act like wings. Autorotation is the type of redundancy this design doesn’t have.
