Thanks for putting things in context, Brian. I'm an engineer and a music nerd.... Your video helped seeing & hearing the application of all the theory... You're the Man!! ;)

Thanks for the video. I'm a beginner at 71 years old. I was experimenting with the circle of fifhs trying to understand the progression of the chords. You have given me the answer to a question I could not put into words. Thanks

Another superb explanation Brian about song chord construction. Light bulb gone on again!

Voicing primer, thank you, by position and function. 😊

The progression with the major third instantly reminded me of Space Oddity by David Bowe. I checked the chords and it goes from a dark-sounding I to iii in the verse and a 'happier' I to III in the chorus ("though I'm passed one hundred thousand miles")

That's an excellent example of a song that uses the major IIi chord! I was actually going to talk about that exact thing in this video, but for the sake of keeping this video short I left it out! That is awesome that you recognized that though 😁😁😁

Wow, such an interesting video! Makes you realise that a D chord doesn't really 'sound' like anything (unless you have perfect pitch). What it sounds like is solely dependent on its function

You make some good points in this video. When they make Charts using the Nashville Number System , they don't care the Key. They are listening for the 1 the 6- the 4 ,5 , 3 , 2 , 5dom7 , 3-... As they will sound the same relativeally in all Key's. A 5 is a 5 and a 6- is a 6-...You might do a video on this. Instead of trying to guess A or B... Use the NNS. Chances are you , your singer , girl friend... Isn't going to sing it in the Recoding Singers Key.

I'm a huge fan of that line of thinking. I did a video on the Nashville system a few years ago. I need to do an updated one though! kzbin.info/www/bejne/jJasgod3ep2Mi5Isi=mjuQmWz11sQFmiSH

Great lesson as always. Any advice for nuts and bolts of starting a business revolving around music. DBAs, tax id, how to protect yourself from a Judas Priest lawsuit for wrongful death based on your lyrics, etc ... That kind of stuff. Thanks.

Thank you, Brian, it would be nice if you gave examples of real songs while explaining the theory, I heard Let It Be, Show Me the Way, etc

Hey Brian I dont know what happened but everything started to make since and using the chart opened up the idea behind using it. I love watching your videos and a long time ago I signed up for your site and you even sent me a backing track I really wanted, but somehow when you changed things up with the company you had problems with i got kicked off your site and couldn't get back in so I just watch your videos. I still would love to find some backing tracks if you can suggest Som wear to get them i would appreciate it. Hope all is well, take care.
