But if you actually research the roots of Halloween, it's a tradition from Ireland where ppl celebrated the harvest and beginning of winter. But the reason why they put lanterns outside was to "scare away" the evil spirits. Over the years it became more commercialized and kids started dressing up. But they honestly just like costumes and only care about getting the candy, they don't know the meaning anyway😂 and the original Tradition has nothing to do with "celebrating de@th", but actually to OPPOSE evil spirits. When I was a kid my parents used to make my sisters and my Halloween costumes and every year we would win either 1st or 2nd place in the Halloween costume contests put on by the community.. I always felt that was a great acknowledgement to my parents on the great jobs they did on our costumes and I'm pretty sure the pride they got from it was unbeatable! :) This father could easily walk away with a 1st place in a costume contest if his daughter entered..
