I didn't want to record this deck, but I was wondering how good it was in bo1. I got some interesting matches and decided to share them with you. Always thought that Dimir Flash couldn't compete against Monored/Boros decks. I was wrong. I won all matches against them in my small session. I also played Kaito for the first time and this card blew my mind. It's so broken. All in all, I was pleasantly surprised by how good this deck is. I netdecked this deck and made a couple of changes.

Curiosity needs a ban. Card is completely broken, has to be the best draw engine in standard in forever. Too big a body with flash and unlikable, it’s just too hard to answer before its value blows the game up. Thinking of other 4 mana standard staples over the last few years like Sheoldred, Elspeth etc.. it’s not even close. If you check big mtgO tournaments, paper, and mtgA data..dimir midrange/flash/faeries just wins everything. As a mainly Historic player who has been playing ninjas/Kaito I love this deck and love playing it but the card is just too strong.

Before it was Raffine, Goldspan etc. there’s always a creature that dominates Standard. If Curiosity can help keeping aggro at bay, good for us, I prefer way more Curiosity than Sheoldred.

@@CristianCiotti your point is valid there is always going to be a top creature even if you ban. However Goldspan and Rafine are not on curiosity’s level imo. Both are not instant speed, answered much easier (and only once). 2 turns of curiosity gaining value is many cards and ususally enough where the game is over. Rafine and Goldspan still had to get many attacks in to get value to effectively end a game.

@ different standards tbh. Curiosity wouldn’t be that great in the Goldspan or even Raffine meta, where exile was everywhere, it is good in this meta with aggro being everywhere. I don’t know if the Dimir shell with Kaito is the top for this Standard, but it seems pretty close and it works well even in competitive events, fighting with the overlord decks.

@@CristianCiotti last I checked over 65% winrate on mtgO events, slightly higher for mtgA events, winning a ton of tournaments and bo3 standard mythic meta via mtguntapped, say if you search from November until now…win rate is around 75%. Which is not normal for any “best deck” in any format at any time.

Although I just watched ashlizzles vid showing untapped gg stats and its got a 79% win rate after 130 games so there is that 😅
