This deck WON BACK TO BACK Infinity Conquests 100% | Jean Doom Wave

Doctor Doom got unnerfed so now Wave is back in a big way. Wave counters a big part of the meta and in combo with the move package (Kraven, Spider-Man, Jeff, Silk, Angela) we are able to really crush every deck out there. Jean grey adds a special touch but is definitely swappable if you don't have her.

I watched your run from pumping grounds through Infinite Conquest with this deck on twitch, great content. I run this list on ladder with America Chavez (no Vision) and Armor (no Kraven, destroy is popular in my pocket meta) people just leave when Jean is played on 3.

Nice. I tried kmbest version wihich had nebula and chavez instead of legion and vision. I didnt do well against in certain matchups. I think legion is too good to cut so ill try your version.

Only first card is restricted by Jean so if you play Jeff first then other card can be played anywhere indeed, its not like Jeff isn't counted as first card

He's not really swappable for someone that can do what he can, so you can swap him but you'll be missing out on a lot of utility against many decks. You can swap in any other tech card you want though

I highly recommend two swaps: throw out Vision for Chavez, and if you want a smoother energy curve (and you should, that's how tempo - midrange decks are supposed to play) include another 1 drop (you can go with Nebula or Ice Man). I'd say that the first swap is the big one: this version of the list is much more inconsistent than the ones that do run Chavez. You really need your Doom, your Wave and your core pieces before turn 5; what you don't need is a slow play like Vision. You can do with only one 1 cost card in this list, but you lose a lot of consistency and winrate if you don't run Chavez.

@@jeth3540 Because Doom doesn't win you the game by itself in most instances: decks that can go taller than you beat you in 2 locations if you don't control the flow of the game, and decks that can go wide by playing multiple cards a turn don't actually care if you can spread 15 power across the board. That is, if you play Doom by itself (which you rarely do anyways if you don't drop Wave, or control the board with Jean Grey or Legion). The thing people misunderstand about doomwave is that Wave wins you the game much more often than Doom does, and expecially in builds like this one, that focus on moving your power across the board while restricting your opponent, you can easily win after a Wave even by playing Chavez alone, because you can freely spread your power while the opponent is stuck. Doom is A win condition of the deck, not THE win condition of the deck. Wave is your most important card in most games, especially if you're trying to get ahead on board early (which means that increasing the consistency with which you actually draw your scaling threats and your enablers is worth much more than slamming a Doom on turn 6 and hoping for the best); the next best thing is Legion, then Jean Grey. Your control tools are worth much more than a Doom on turn 6

@@jeth3540 with all due respect: he is a much better player than me, but everyone hase their deck preferences. I tried his build and liked a lot less than KM's which did include Chavez. I have my own arguments for believing that the deck would be better performing with Chavez and a less awkward curve, so I can respect other people's takes while also maintaining my perspective. I think this particular decklist is not optimized for various reasons: it has a very awkward curve and it's less consistent because you either need to cut a tur 1 play, or reduce your chances of drawing your key comoonents just for a Vision inclusion that feels sub-optimal at best

How many games did you play with my deck vs km's? It's hard to really see the consistency difference between Chavez in a few games because Chavez barely helps your early odds that it's hard to feel in a small sample size
