So after you dehydrate and you are measuring. Are you measuring all that is on the try?
@ThePurposefulPantry10 күн бұрын
I'm note exactly sure what you mean, Linda. Measuring when? For the recipe? I use what measurements are in the recipe and any excess goes into storage jars.
@lindabuice175610 күн бұрын
@@ThePurposefulPantry sorry I am not clear. When you log into your journal you measured before you dehydrated and then you measured again after you dehydrated to log into the journal. So you measure all on the tray to see how much you have after!. Not sure this makes sense much sense. May I can watch your more of your videos and figure it out.
@ThePurposefulPantry10 күн бұрын
No - I measured the amount I measured first. Usually a consistent serving size or weight - and you do it separately on a tray to remeasure once dry - that way you know how much to use at any given time.

I was wondering why when i make home made spices they are clumping in the jar?? I dehydrated tomatoes and peppers then grind them together , but it keeps clumping?? is it possible maybe 1 of the veg were not completely dry?
@ThePurposefulPantry6 ай бұрын
Because if you are doing anything more than pulsing, you're heating up all the natural sugars and it clumps. But it's also possible that something isn't dry - did you condition your food first to check? And if it's powdering but just clumping, you can spread the powder onto a tray or dish and put it back into the dehydrator to dry.

I wonder how this would do dehydrating with just boiling water and a long soak?
@ThePurposefulPantry4 ай бұрын
Boiling water will cool off quite quickly and won't keep this warm unless you're doing it in a mylar bag. It really is better to keep it over heat or inside something that will help maintain the temp of the water.

Since the cabbage/coleslaw mix and the beef is stored together in the jar - does it work just as well when you put it all together? Because you show doing the beef first, but in the jar it’s all together
@ThePurposefulPantry6 ай бұрын
Because I was doing it from the individual ingredients to show you can do it either way. Yes - you can just toss the whole jar in, too, or keep beef separated if you prefer. You can do it anyway that works best, but if you do it with all the ingredients, keep a closer eye on the moisture.
