It confuses me how no one else mentioned this in the comments, but he didn’t carry the POW the whole level. He threw his first one. Then he grabbed the other one just after the checkpoint. And like 30 seconds later he went: “I’ve been carrying this POW block the whole level.” But yes I agree with you. He totally should have.

In the ghost level without music, the pipe ryu goes into was a little shortcut. In the level at 16:00 ryu just could fall al the way down in the subworld and skip a lot of the level. I love the SMM2 Level Viewer 😄
