I just booked here for a little Disney Springs/resort hopping drinking adventure for my girlfriends birthday. We were aware of the resort fee prior to booking. They dont list it on the price, but they do say there's a resort fee. I'm not driving a vehicle, so I won't have that fee, and if you're at all familiar with disney transportstion at all it's pretty easy to work around that fee with Disney Springs and Saratoga right across the way. Not trying to downplay your bad experience, because the customer service issue would've upset me as well, but just saying you can work around the rest.

We did! But it was A LOT of steps with a little one. That was partly why i booked it, but with her falling asleep on the walk, it was definitely hard. I think it would be a lot easier with bigger kids or with adults. But my real issue is that part of the positive of that hotel is having a cheaper place, but between the transport and the fees, it was the same cost as staying at a value resort. Even years later, I’d still recommend just staying at a value resort instead. I’m not mad about it anymore though. 🤣

It’s a resort fee and is very common. We read about it before we booked.

Pretty sure every Hotel there has a Resort Fee. Expect maybe The On-site Disney Hotels. Even though this is considered a Disney Hotel. Also you probably would have liked it more if you stayed in the Tower. If you check the Website it gives totals and it does say there is a fee of 28.00.

Oh. I’m sure. But this was meant to be a cheap trip. But I’m not sure I accomplished that with this hotel.

Transportation is actually free for guests. You get a code to use for hotel guests

We stayed at the Coronado Springs resort last month and it was great, its a mid-budget resort on property but completely worth it, not a single complaint.

I LOVE Coronado Springs. It is such a beautiful resort.

The hotel has good facilities, it's comfortable, and the lobby is clean. The service is poor: the rooms are not cleaned, the bathroom is not cleaned, and the restaurant service is terrible. The included transportation service to the parks is not punctual, and twice at night it never showed up, so we had to pay for a taxi. Rating: 10 out of 100.

I think these up charges aren’t uncommon, but… if the price is at all similar, I would say stay on property. You’ll still pay a similar price.

Dude I stayed at the Sheraton hotel, which is pretty much right by Disney Springs as well and they offered free transportation shuttles to both Disney and Universal, offered Continental breakfast, had a much better pool, had a swim up bar and was not even close to the amount you paid. I stayed there for three nights and it was like 300 bucks. There is property you can stay at for way less. Disney resorts are insane with how much they charge. I always stay off property just outside of the hub.

Same feeling. The members from the hotel did not explain nothing about the taxes. I will never go there again. I am annoying.

Thanks for making this video because I'm planning another trip back down to Orlando. And it's good to know which hotels in the Disney hub charge extra per day. now I know. Thanks for saving me money and so I can be aware of these extra charges. Next time I book a hotel near Disney Springs. This was very helpful

Sorry you got hosed on hidden fees. Disney property can be brutal cost wise but art of animation is prob the best value IMO at that entry tier level. Glad you had fun overall and I’m Sure you daughter will remember that trip for years to come I think universal hotels blow Disney out of the water and I’ve stayed at some nice Disney places. Disney is magical but the hotel properties are SO big now I just deal with it

I agree! Universal has really stepped up their game and it’s making disney step up theirs

Wow 😯 that’s crazy all those fees. I know about the resort fees but wow. I think you could’ve stayed at a Universal Resort too for less than that!

Oh. For sure. Which is why it made me mad. I’ll never be there again.

$150 for any hotel is cheap (And it’s dirt cheap especially when being like 50 yards from Disney Springs) & transportation is free, you just didn’t use the guest promo code. Also, there’s no possible way to stay at a Disney Value resort for $150 a night.

yea i would raise hell, screw that! definitely try to dispute the charge!

What’s your experience with weather at Cedar Point? I’m going August 11th, forecast is calling for rain. Hope it turns out to still be ok.
@notyournormalg13 жыл бұрын
Yeah... weather can be tricky. It does rain frequently there. If there’s rain on the horizon, you have a good chance that it’ll rain. Just make the best of it. I have a video about what to do when it’s raining too! That might be helpful. I’ll link it for you in the next comment.

Was that the bus service fee? Did anyone reach out to you after the video?
@notyournormalg1 Жыл бұрын
No. It was the resort fee. The bus service did cost some money also. But after the whole thing, it would’ve been much more worthwhile to have just stayed on property rather than “on property” rather than one of the Disney springs hotels. They don’t need to reach out to me, but I do think it’s worthwhile to let people know about the fees. I think they are “normal” but they’re not publicized.
@happysunshine59062 ай бұрын
Is the $97 fees that you showed charged per day stayed?
@blainegorman66723 жыл бұрын
It was most likely a daily resort fee. Most all resorts charge that fee anymore.
@notyournormalg13 жыл бұрын
That is what it said, but I have not seen that at Disney World ever and not around cedar point either. It’s something they only do because we allow them to. But, at least, people should be aware.

@@feenster9050 I sincerely hope it’s better, considering this vid is almost 4 years old. Still, for my money, you get more for the same overall cost at an actual Disney hotel.

Masks 👎🏻. Not a fan of anything Disney lately. I much prefer Universal. We enjoyed the very newly built Endless Summer surf side resort for under $100 and free shuttles to Universal.

Stop complaining on vacation. Spend money, enjoy life. You complained about "body souffle" which is just body lotion. Seems you complain after you yourself don't do research before traveling. Almost every resort in the country charges a "resort fee" and by law that fee is on their website(s). Sucks but the nature of travel today. You liked everything about the place expect the "body souffle" which is body lotion and the resort fee. On their website under each room listing it shows a hyperlink "Total for Stay" which shows the taxes, resort fee(s) etc. And no I don't work for them. I travel often and ensure myself I am informed before making videos complaining
