Also, a thing as Moira that helps turn games for me sometimes is just enable the best dps on your team. I would have just said screw the tank and followed reaper around and helped him kill the backline. Its sometimes hard to realize that in the middle of a game but I have had many games turn around just because I started hunting kills with a reaper and just overwhelmed their squishy players. You just gotta accept the tank is gonna do what hes gonna do and decide to use Moiras kit to its fullest and win it yourself. Thats the big reason I play moira, because I know I can carry games offensively with her if I need to.

Omg it's so weird that you said this lol I just started playing OW 2 ranked and I was playing Reaper, I was constantly trying to take pressure away from my teammates by shooting from behind the opposite team. It was working, but it seemed like my team was still being pressured heavily because it's like they still couldn't move forward even after I've killed a player or two. At one point I noticed the entire enemy team was holding a choke and far away from their support that was sitting near the payload (we were literally a few inches away from the third point) so I walked over and killed the support and his teammate came out of nowhere. I got him one shot and died AND I don't know how or when, my Kiriko teammate teleported to me and killed the guy and pushed the payload and we won! I'm so glad this player noticed what I was doing. Even though I'm new, I've noticed that a lot of players do not have very good situational awareness (or things like paying attention to their teammates location etc). That Kiriko literally won us the game with that move alone.

You can IMMEDIATELY tell they prefer to play Mercy, their movement is more assured. They feel more at ease with her. A quick tip for their Mercy gameplay. Unless you are the absolute LAST person alive in OT and you’re the touch, DO NOT TOUCH CART. That’s where the enemies are, that’s where all the lights want them to go, you are no use to anyone on cart. If it was ME in that first fight (Masters/GM Mercy Main) I would have been up at that choke with the JQ instead of afk on cart with the Soldier. Would it have saved the JQ? Maybe not but maybe she would have lasted a bit longer, maybe woulda had 80 to Ult because of the damage boost. ALWAYS be doing something let someone else be Payload Princess. Edit: Chat praises the blue beaming on Soldier/Cass later but THAT BEAM ISNT DOING ANYTHING. If Cass is sitting on cart doing 3dmg from a mile away the Blue Beam is WORTHLESS. All the afk on Cart just means their team was fighting a 3v5 bc the Cass and Mercy are having a date. I don’t even need to see the stat line to know the Mercy had like 500db by the end when they EASILY could have had over 1000. Ideally you’d want to db the Cass/Soldier but if they’re the payload babysitter then you go to someone else.
@CarelessBeach2 ай бұрын
Great point on damage boost. The beam should always be playing audio cues - either the wooshy sound of healing, or the tickticktick of boosting damage. If your beam isn't making noise, flick onto someone else. Usually that's whoever is upfront, even if they're not as good as the dps that decided to be a champ and push the cart.

@@savage3PC I feel like people don't understand that when you run Moira Doom, Moira isn't supposed to always be right up Doom's butt. I don't even know where to really begin explaining because I don't understand the root source of this strange assumption when none of the supports should be constantly with the Doom. do you think a Doom should always just be in the enemy backline or something so "obviously" the only supports that "should" be played with Doom are those with significant range? it's very simple. when doom is going for a soft dive/engagement, Moira plays back/soft engages too. typically you will not use fade to go in at this point. doom disengages for healing and/or to peel, i.e., doom comes back into Moira's range. when doom hard engages, Moira hard engages too. at this point, you typically burn fade to go in because a hard engage is when you commit resources and go all in, and either you win the fight or you die together. at this point, Moira will be with the doom and will keep the doom within their range to heal them with their primary fire. I hope this helps explain. it seems very simple to me, but maybe that's just because I'm a support main so it's more intuitive to me just like how DPS stuff is typically less intuitive to me but makes more sense to dps mains.

He literally stands far back in the open behind my sightline, so I can't see if he is low. And so far away he has damage fall-off and is less effective, not even playing near natural cover. And then of course he dies without ever asking for healing (we were all in voice chat), and decides to go on a big rant about how he loses every time someone plays Ana. My whole team laughed at him, told him he should try something other than widow because he clearly can't play widow. And we won, and I never switched from Ana all game XD. The next game I saw him on the other team so I played Ana again and outsniped him all game on Ana. Won that game as well LMAO Ignore these clowns, mute them and focus on yourself. They will always be in low elo so the sooner you get out the sooner you can stop dealing with them. Everyone has that 1 hero they don't like, but the small brain players never give others a chance to see can they actually make the hero work in the match-up. A lot of people don't like ball, but a good ball player can actually single handedly carry a game.

Worst mistake. I was an idiot. Immediately i was marked as 'typical moira-main' (my main is ana/kiriko) enemy #1 who gives no heals ever, no matter what i had done, with the other support (brigitte) smugly stating THEY had no problems staying alive while pocketing the rein. honestly should have just left that game, it wasn't worth the time/energy.

I get why not choosing Mercy at the start (low healing numbers), but I don't see how Moira "fits" that initial team comp. Both Lucio and Moira want to be close to their allies to do their jobs and here you started with two backline DPS and a dive tank. If you all could dive together it might be fine but with an objective to defend and those long sightlines, that's a tall ask. Even the tank becoming Roadhog didn't make that much easier as, while more self sufficient, it really made it harder for supports to be able to heal any given teammate at any given time. That and they were simply out of LOS for far too much. I get wanting to create space, but that was a pretty extreme example. running forward to presumably grab the mini health pack ("I need to heal myself cuz my support won't do it for me!") while Cass was ulting was just bad, if they backed up around the corner, they would have found their Moira and Bap all too eager to top them back up again from safety. Mercy on attack was fine, more self sufficient heroes (soldier's biotic field, Sombra's Sombra'ing, JQ's wounds). The tank would love the speed to rush in and wreck havok while damage boosted for more self healing, but they still went too far ahead, and they lived longer when they hung back to defend the payload. My first real thought on choices made was that I would have ulted during Mauga's cage, to heal all my allies caught in it from outside the barrier. It might not have worked, but I think Valkyrie came out too late when too many were dead.

The amount of times I’m told to switch off my current hero and go mercy just bc the team is getting rolled despite my heals and need to rely on a res is insane. I have to explain that if I go mercy we will almost definitely lose as I can’t play her but ppl just don’t get that and insist on “go this character”. Like ???????😅

had a bronze comp game last night where our winston swapped to doom after being told he was feeding. something about doom players, i swear ...
@theviewer93632 ай бұрын
Thats what sucks is when your a good healer and you watch your tank feed over and over while they yell at you, thats why in im stuck in silver for heals i swear. Or somehow is two good dps same rank against two bad dps same rank. And not going to lie and the end of my sessions i start feeding because im tired after work, but still

Edit:after another comment I reviewed the final death again and my first paragraph below defending their action is incorrect. They were just an idiot that ran through the lava. Existing paragraph is being left in tact so that the reply calling that out still has the context. To be fair, the final death from the JQ, they had limited choices on pushing forward or pulling back because of the lava. They were probably about to die no matter what. That said, amazingly poor game sense from the tank. I know I do this sometimes, but as soon as I die and realize I screwed up, I call myself out. That mostly happens when I think I've got someone pushing with me or I misread how many enemies I'm pushing into. Sometimes I feel like pushing up was what should have happened and I get frustrated that my team pulled back instead, but even then you need to be aware of what you're team is doing. If you are constantly over extending on only complaining the whole game about your teammates, thats completely on you 100%. At the very least you need to calm down and try to communicate that you want to push more because that's how you play a team came, not by yelling blame at them. Communicate and adjust as a team. Not a 'pushing to hard' issue, but the other week I was playing and not doing well on tank. I think I called it right that the Zarya getting double pocketed was a problem, but I never tried to say I was playing well and I never blamed anyone on my team for use not winning fights. In fact, I called out several good plays my teamates made. But on my comment about the double pocket, my team's solution was double pocket me to prove a point that I was a sucky tank, but what I MEANT when I said that is a double pocket Zarya is hard to kill, kill the supports first. After that didn't pan out (as we all expected, due to miscommunication on how to handle it) our Moira then said they were just going to go DPS, and I encouraged that because that's honestly what was going to work better for how well I wasn't playing. And the other guy flaming me was wasting time checking my profile mid fight to flame my time on my tank main vs other tanks. Yeah, these guys being a bit toxic has been living in my head rent free and I keep replaying all the other options I had that could have worked better than what I did (because again, I agree I wasn't playing well in that match), but I appreciate that at least parts of it were communicating on how to play around each other better. THAT part was good, and when THAT was the focus of the chat, we played better as a team and actually made progress vs being busy with blaming/flaming/toxic behavior. Whenever chat is being toxic, the whole team suffers.

@kiayaoi i'll check again but I could have sworn she got cut off real quick. Maybe I misviewed it, though. Edit: yep, I totally missaw that one. Literally ran THROUGH the existing lava placement like an idiot. Thanks for pointing that to me.

Personally I feel like doom players get their egos hurt when they getting diffed by another doom. then start flaming everyone for their own mistakes except their theirs
@damon60862 ай бұрын
I haven't seen the video yet, but I already know the Doom is going play bad which is why he's complaining. He probably punched in, 1v5'd the enemy team and died in more than one fight. It's funny that a Doom is complaining because most Doom mains can't play Doom. Edit: Before he switched to Hog, I can say I was almost right. Still right about him playing bad and mostly going in alone.
@sethescope2 ай бұрын
this reminds me of my favorite thing about good doom players. when they accidentally go in 1v5 -- because it happens sometimes to the best of us, we all goof up sometimes -- and promptly fall over, they use the "I'm sorry" voice line immediately LMAO good doom players know when they did an oopsie, and it's impossible to be even a little mad when you can tell they're facepalming at themselves
@damon60862 ай бұрын
@@sethescope True, I will never flame anyone who owns up to their mistakes.
@sethescope2 ай бұрын
@@damon6086 I personally feel like no one should flame anyone and that flaming someone who flames first doesn't achieve anything (if the goal is to push back and defend whoever is being flamed, there are better ways to do that), BUT I see your point and I do appreciate it. and it's always very sweet when I use the I'm sorry line because I did an oopsie and someone else says no and then I'm sorry lol 😅 like, I appreciate the thought but I know what I did

i hate being told to swap. so i have an entertaining way to deal with it. if i tell them me swapping isnt gonna end well and they tell me again i will swap to someone im worse at and i will be even worse when it comes to assisting the one who said something. i dont care if i win or loose 1 loss does not bother me in the slightest but the raging person i bet it bothers him.

As much as i hate feeding dooms it’s best to at least play heroes that work with doom, moira can’t keep up with doom so running; kiriko or ana and sometimes lw is the better option and if you wanna flex support then zen,lucio, and brig are good

As a moira player i definitely see things he could do better but this was just standard trash doom play. Its hard to do anything when you got a feeding tank. And yeah, tanks always blame moira. You can literally be hard carrying a game and have 2x the healing and dmg of anyone in the game and they will still say "trash dps moira" and stuff like that. It doesnt matter at all whats actually happening in the game. Also, I have never once seen a doomfist who didn't blame everyone else for their own bad play. Dooms are the worst.
@Iscoileachme2 ай бұрын
Maybe I'm wrong but I think Moira is actually very good for dive tanks as she can help the tank finish the squishies and fade if it doesn't work. As a Winston main since recently, that's what I often lack, just some extra damage to the targets that run away at the last moment with 10 hp and basically make me feed. Skill issue on my part, ofc, I'm a relatively new and bad player. But just in case. A doom main could give this a thought too. Btw I main Moira on support and that's what I often excel at, finishing someone off. Kind of cheesy, I know, but it always works lol.
@dash48002 ай бұрын
@Iscoileachme moira is good with any comp if the tank plays right. But the big problem with dive tanks is they like to go in 1v5 and expect you to use all your cooldowns to save them. Then once you do they jump away and leave you to die. My rule is if the tank is making good plays I support them and if they are feeding I just go dps mode. And moira will always be blamed for everything anyway so if they flame you who cares.

i never ever understood why people play dive on defense especially maps with long sights and when enemy with spawn advantage. is defense not about sustain and farming. I am missing something or is it valid to ask my tank to switch off a dive hero on defense.

I don't blame him. Moira is such a nothingburger of a character. She's just a stat padder and people that play her just go "STATS! I CARRIED!" all the time. Seeing her on my team just makes me instantly a little bit frustrated because almost every other support brings more to the table.
