I've never seen a mercy go for so many frontline rezzes like that enemy mercy in the VOD... most of her rezzes ended up being instantly killed, along with her being killed as well for being out of position. After a certain point, one would think she'd start to think about whether a rez is worth it or not, especially if it's closer to spawn, but nope. She kept rezzing any and everything. Her choice, I guess.

Yaaaa. That was rough. If I don't think it's rezable without me dieing I'm either not going for it or waiting to see if it becomes safe or I can rez from a safe angle. Aside from positioning and target priority that's one of the most important things. I think some Mercy players don't realize how much time you have to rez someone, you've got like a whole 10 seconds, thats a long time in a team fight. 9/10 if the Mercy dies so does the rest of the team, if you're a good Mercy anyways.

the mercy was a dead givaway of the rank. Just standing on the ground behind the team. No flying around, no being any challenge to kill. Idk how a GM player could look at that and not instantly know its a very low rank.

personally, if im playing mercy in qp, i go for every res possible, because you miss every res you dont take. about half the time, im able to get a res like that off because the enemies just dont expect it, nor do they try to contest it.

There was a lot of scuffed ult usage as well, it was all very entertaining in a way like you see the confidence and intention, but it's hilariously understandable

@@kiiokotoriikitscrazyhesony8242 that's pretty dumb actually. The biggest power if mercy is to be an unkillable Uber pocket. If you are dying while doing a res in the open 50% of the time you are costing your team. Think of it as a math equation. The best case scenario is you get the red off and get an extra 200 hp hero. But even if you did that you are not healing probably way more than 200hp that is being pumped into your team. So it's still a toss up if you win the fight. And if you fail then you automatically lose the fight. But if you hard pocket someone you can heal many times the hp of the player you lost and do way more dmg while potentially winning the fight or stall long enough for the dead player to get back. Only do a res in the open for a tank or if you know they are focused on someone else and aren't paying attention.

I know, it’s shameful (though I did not buy one and leveled it up myself completely from scratch), but I PLACED GOLD!!!! I think I peaked at gold 1, and I’ve stayed in gold without issue, so apparently the gold guess was pretty spot on. At this point, I am convinced that my main account is cursed, though I have no idea why. Maybe playing with a controller for the first 100 hours was a bad idea lol. Anyways, thank you!! I always enjoy watching your stream and VOD reviews, so seeing this pop up on my feed made my day ☺️❤️

Totally deserve the gold rank, you had so much more game sense and awareness than anyone else in that vod 😂 sometimes an alt is the only way to find out as I think the amount of games you played before you started to "get good" can really hold you back. I was hard stuck Plat for a long time until I made an alt and climbed to mid diamond without much difficulty, stayed around there ever since. Well done and keep it up 😊

The mercy was healing a full health D.va. They were not adjusting to the Mercy + Lucio comp, they were heal botting. When the other support goes Moira (red herring btw) yeah they’re still heal botting the full health D.va. Like I agree I like when Emongg shuts down chat but why exactly did you pick out that specific moment?

@laovers doy but no one at low rank plays their heroes properly. mercy is the only one that gets nit picked about it. also the VOD is about the DVA, criticizing a randoms gameplay whos just minding their business is goofy

The low ranks in ladder are just abysmal rn. Unless you're a master+ smurf matchmaking RNG is more important than your skill expression on most of your games.

@@jdmiller999 i think they mean practiced in qp to get better and because of that you dont get to rank up as much in comp. I did the same thing, did most of my practicing in qp, after i had already done placements for the season and now im lower than i feel i should be in comp lmao

i think tank is just really hard to rank up and win consistently. I am diamond in support, dps, and open. But I have fallen to gold 5 at tank, and am very close to dropping to silver. I know what I'm doing. I can play tank in diamond open queue and dominate. But I go to these gold games and even if I go 50-1 its still a toss up if I can pull out a win. And at these ranks you start getting people who somehow think they are really good and are playing high skill heroes despite obviously not having that skill. Playing a tank in low rank with a hanzo/widow combo at dps is a nightmare because you know they are not good enough to ever hit those shots. I cant tell you how many games I have had where i have 3-4 times the damage as the dps at these ranks. Plus at low ranks it seems people are much more likely to quit or throw a game if its not going good. The other day I had 4 games in a row with leavers/throwers. Its really bad.

I would argue first defense final point, DVA should’ve gone to the ceiling and ulted. Ram won’t have a great placement to block that and you guarantee Sombra, Mercy, and maybe even Ram with bad shield or bad reaction time. Placing that ult directly behind the cart screwed them tbh

There's so many heroes with movement abilities and denial cooldowns that there's more value in using it to make an aggressive play and remech than it is to throw it in a spot you think is good and pray. I've had bombs that were placed basically perfect and looked like it was gonna get 3-4 and only got 1, sometimes none, but I've had more surprise remech bombs that have team wiped or got 3-4. Sadly her ult has become more valuable for remech than to use it as it used to be. I only throw it now if I see a good opportunity, which is so rare now sadly.

the mercy was the givaway, ground mercys only exist at low ranks.

It’s easy to tell it’s low rank because you can see small delays in their thought process. Starting at Gold. There is no obvious delays, they play more on instinct now. Bad instincts but there isn’t delays anymore.

The easy way to tell its ultra low rank is that the mercy was just standing on the ground and easily killable. Once you get into high gold and plat the mercys are flying around and being much more difficult to kill. You would never see a mercy play like this at higher levels.

I like calling them zoning ults, when you just ult to keep point or a zone. It makes people run away and hide, so it can be valuable. I've won a few just from Bastion or Hanzo ult going on the cart so they can't touch it last second

I play Brig because I can't aim for shi and holy shit do Plat Anas love to chase their tank to heal them. They somehow manage to position more aggressively than me which is crazy

I would’ve guessed high silver/low gold. Plat is honestly quite a bit better than both tbh. Diamond is significantly better than both. Especially after the rank reset.

He might just not be consistent. It’s very easy to drop a game where they played really well but if these aren’t the types of plays they make every game, then on average, they aren’t higher than the rank they get. All comp games are just about consistency.

Im a silver 4 or 3 tank right now, i mainly play Dva and Dva only, I use my ult to just get them away from point all the time. Rarely get kills with it now so I dont see a point in not using it as a defensive thing.

this is low gold at best. The skill cealing has increased so much on all ranks like "plat is new diamond" etc. Theres so many smurfs and hackers who affect many ppls ranking up too

I’ve seen enough plat games to know that they don’t play statue. Plat plays circuit royal close and Shambali far but blizzard world is a little more intuitive. Obviously, shit happens and even in high diamond I’ve *seen* it but both teams? Yeah idk.

im not surprised that theyre still in silver, but hear me out: not because of them! this player definitely has the skillset already to be much higher, but you could definitely tell by the way the rest of the lobby was playing that this was still a pretty low tier game. it sucks that they haven't climbed as much as they should have, they should absolutely be out of silver, if not on their way towards plat, if they tune up their positioning and decision making. heres to hoping for more consistent games for bertmerps!
