You’re in for a treat, they have three different clean vocalists throughout this journey. It’s the same screamer jon but he’s improved immensely since he started.
@kevanbrandvold1584 Жыл бұрын
Idk if improved is the right word. Jon screaming "polymorphic hemophilia is fine" is some of the best screaming I've ever heard. They're really good on all of robot part 1

One album actually has Will Swan doing harsh vocals if im not mistaken. Mess had Lyme disease at the time so he had to take over

I have been a fan of DGD since they drop Downtown Battle Mountain, which I thought was great. Went back and listened to this EP and instantly I knew they were something special. I love seeing people react to them, it reminds me of the roller coaster of emotions I felt when I first heard them. Amazing stuff.

Liked and subscribed within the first 10 seconds of the video. Anyone who dives this correctly into experimenting with a new band deserves the utmost respect.

This and DBM1 are peak DGD for me. This is one of those bands that makes me feel like an oldhead now because most of their fans got into them during the Tilian years.

@@Washanuga I got into them right around mother ships debut and when I heard lemon meringue tie from a friend I instantly went back to wisiro and dbm1 and will always put them as my number 1 albums

21:12 is my exact reaction to this song and band lol. I’ve listened to all their shit and robot with human hair 2 is by far one of their greatest songs. Thanks for doing this album justice. It’s controversial with the fan base but my god what a beautiful and chaotic ep this one was. Can’t wait to watch the rest of these reviews lol

Lots of folks already said it, but I'll jump in! Awesome of you to start the journey this way, I'm pumped to binge watch your experience!! 😁 We all love Matt Mingus, I smiled hard for each "I love this drummer" There are hundred of thousands of fans that spew drama nonsense in the dark corners of this fanbase, but this is the footage of the birth of a rare, modern, OG, DGD fan.. musically. As the journey, and opinions, should reside-- within the music. Bravo, sir! 👏

Burning down the nicotine armoire is an absolute masterpiece. My favorite song of all time!!
@C.M.M.232 жыл бұрын
Crazy that Burning Down The Nicotine Armoire had the lowest numbers. Best song on the album for me. 🤘 And I forgot that The Importance Of Cocaine had one of the top-tier DGD bridge-to-breakdowns. Will Swan I believe made a cheeky song about breakdowns, but he does them so damn well.

Hey, if you love this EP you will REALLY enjoy the album Cries of the Past by Underoath. It's categorically Black Metalcore, which is ironic because the theme is religious as they were / are a Christian band (now debateable). Please react to it!!!! It is part of their most earliest work, and it's probably one of the greatest albums I've ever listened to, in terms of musicianship (not being hyperbolic). Additionally, they're my fave band of all time. Dance Gavin Dance comes in a close 2nd. Happy listening!!!! 😊

Long time Dgd fan, WISIRO is definitely because of how raw and emotional it is but it’s def the most different of anything they’ve released. It’s definitely the most true post hardcore release

Apparently, Will Swan, who is the lead guitarist, has a genre named after him and this band called Swancore. I'm not sure at what point in their tenure people started referring to their music like that though.

I love this ep, though I started to listen to DGD with the Summertime Gladness single and the album Mothership, later I listened to all their albums and this one is my favorite after D.B.M

I would group Dance Gavin Dance exactly with things that started in California around the same time. A Skylit Drive (She Watched the Sky), The Subtle Way (Against Your Own Retreat/Until We Have Faces),,, and I’m sure there’s more I just can’t think of them atm. DGD has a unique sound to them, however. This record along with DTBM & their albums with Kurt will always be my favorites 👌🏽
