Sam and Jacob were both beautiful! I think it has a lot to do with the actual love that Jacob and Sam have for each other. They're true friends and they had been through something together and they both knew what that scene meant for their characters, for the show, for the fans of the show...it showed on screen in a major way

18:10 just my interpretation but in a post-episode interview, sam reid said lestat came to the trial to try and save them. lestat is called by the coven and he goes because he's not just going to let louis die. lestat doesn't want to be there, he has reasons to hate paris and armand and he doesn't want the trial to happen, that's why he's so angry in the rehearsal but going along with it. he doesn't have a plan, the whole trial is him trying to figure out something. he keeps going off script, trying to take the blame of turning claudia himself, also not letting santiago down play the fact that he broke louis and it was unforgivable. sam said the reason lestat kept going into the audience was to try and get close to them and get them to sympathize with him and open their minds to him so he could manipulate them easier and use mind control on them when the time came. i'm assuming he only had strength to do it once with so many ppl, as we saw when he mind controlled the soldiers in s1, he was bleeding from his ears and pale and had to sit down after. in the trial episode there's a brief but intentional shot that shows lestat wobbling on his feet after the banishment scene. he chose to save louis over claudia and he has to live with that choice, and it torments him for the next ~80 years, as it should imo. i think the trial is definitely going to be revisited next season and reveal more. this is just my perception of what happened based on the show and reading sam's interview with tvfanatic, which is all up to interpretation. i really enjoyed your video!!

Girlies, help me. I haven't been the same since I watched that episode. When Lestat recited that date and asked Louis, 'did you hurt yourself' I was broken. He loved him so much!! Yall know how petty and crazy he is, but he actually let Armand take Louis and for like 40 years held on to this pain of not even knowingg if Louis was okay. Jacob and Sam must know that they're soul mates irl too. not even romantically but something because DAMN. the emotion in that scene. I don't remember the last time a show or movie messed me up like this. It's tragically beautiful. The actors and the staff can rest in life knowing that THEY DID THE DAMN THING. also they're all so humble about their talent and the show. just hella proud. they were born for this. shout out Bailey Bass and Delainey too.

In this Vampire Lore if you decapitate a vampire you have to keep the head and body separate or they'll just reattach. Also you have to scatter the ashes of a vampire because if the ashes stay together the Vampire can regenerate.

Mmmm. Not totally wrong, but not fully accurate either. It's true that older, far more powerful Vampires can reattach their heads and essentially survive decapitation. Santiago however, wasn't even 30yrs old yet, in Vampire years. Having a strong maker or not, if the head part of the equation bled out, it would kill him. He's simply not old enough or strong enough to recover from that, so even if Louis had left head and body as is, right next to eachtoher. He wouldn't have survived it. It's all about the brain for these Vampires... Then, for the scattering of the ashes, it's not necessarily that they'd regenerate, but more so that the belief is they wouldn't die. They wouldn't move on, and instead will be conscious as essentially a pile of ash. The only one recorded, who regenerated from being burned down to ash (in the books) is Louis. And that's only because the coffin held his ashes in the form of his body, and Lestat with his powerful ass god-level blood, David and Merrick all essentially covered him with their blood. The blood was able to basically re-form him. Then Lestat gave him multiple infusions of blood after that... Other than that though, at least in the books, as far as I remember there isn't actually any proof neither here nor there that the belief about ashes is true. It's more like an urban legend/myth type of thing. Not saying it's not true, or can't be. But Anne Rice never really confirmed that it's actually a real thing, either way.

It was when Lestat dropped Akasha's name that it brought everything together! I didn't even think about the fact that Lestat is invulnerable unless he is open to accepting the invitation!!! As soon as he said "I have to be willing and I'm not in the mood"! You really see how much Lestat loves Louis, because he actually gave Louis his "blessing" to kill him last season when he said "I'm glad that it is you" before Louis cut his throat!

If you notice Lestat's ear was bleeding from all the energy used to save Louis's life by mind control. He could barley stand, rewatch it and you'll see it. When it came time for Claudia's death, he didn't have the strength to save her. PLUS !!!!! Louis was supposed to die too in the play Armand was directing, so he spent 77 years with someone he originally was gonna let die. I never liked Armand in the books, movie, or this series.

The show is magic, actors sexy, writing impeccable but what i want to talk about is you Elle Bee. I have never looked forward to a review as much, giggled, enjoyed a personality and beautiful face as much as i have watching you. I have never been more inspired to visit New Orleans and see the beautiful city that raised such a charismatic woman like yourself. So for the Lestat part of the trial, no real spoilers because we're no doubt getting certain truths about that, in regards to Paris, that coven and Armand, in S3 (or 4 depending on if they split TVL adaption or not). So lets just say this, there's a reason why Lestat was not at full power or strength on that stage. We'll leave that part at that. But the reason he ended up in Paris to begin with, all the way from the garbage heap in Nola... In the book, he came to get blood from Armand to help heal him. He only found out that his "children" were there, after getting there himself. Some things happen (spoilers) and he finds himself in this fake trial, literally to save not just Louis but BOTH his fledglings. But because he's not at full health/strength (everyone who missed it, go back and pay attention, Lestat has bruises on his hands and wrists. he was NOT okay). But anyways, he physically couldn't save them both. He only had the strength to save one. And there's just no reality where he would have saved Claudia, and watched Louis burn. I'm sorry. Unlike Armand, who very much was at full strength and could've fought that whole coven and saved all of them single-handedly. Lestat literally could only save one. And of course it's Louis. If he were at full strength, even if it did nearly take him out he would have saved them both, he just couldn't.

Awwwww🥰 Lestat and Louie just gave me all the feels!!!! I was like Whitney.. just so emotional every time I think of them. They my couple period!! I wanted them to play Let’s Stay Together and dance in the Storm. Armand so dirty but he still was giving that face card. All of em were bc they were looking super fine. Louie looking like Vampbo, the Vampire Rambo, had me turned on. Then Lestat was just looking super fine. On the serious this show was EVERYTHING!! 10s across the board. They gave every episode they were in and I’m hoping they all will get the awards they deserve. This is phenomenal television. Can’t wait for S3. Oh yea that meow and Siri pause took me out too 😂😂

Bonus tea: Lestat had to come because Armand contacted him and promised if he came he would give him some of his blood. Lestat looked fly as f but he was still not actually recovered from his ‘death’ and Amand’s powerful blood would’ve restored him fully. BUT, Armand broke THAT PROMISE too and he didn’t give Lestat the blood so he had to continue to heal slowly and painfully for years and years.

Seems like the writers are building up Louis’ insanity backstory…that scene was funny when he was crouched down like Quasimodo mumbling like a nutta butta. Remember his brother had mental health issues and was institutionalized so it could be hereditary. And how long was he buried in the crypt? Days? Regarding Jacob’s southern accent - he’s British. They have the best mock southern accents because the southern accent is derived from British English. It’s like a weird reverse uni card trick. And OMGosh Daniel Malloy became an even bigger douche after he was turned. I was like damn, his grumpy ass is really like a total dick.

Your commentary is spot on - again. You are funny and so informative at the same time. I can relate to much of what you say about New Orleans. The humidity, hurricanes, etc. I was born there, and live about 60 miles south of the city now. About Lestat onstage during the "play". Lestat does not control himself very well. He changes his mind on a dime often. He was regretting what was happening. He used a tremendous amount of energy to control the audience to save Louis. His ears were bleeding. He was swaying from exhaustion while standing. He was horrified watching Claudia die, but he had no strength left to save her in time. At least this is what I took from it. I have seen other comments that see it this way too. Even though he was a big part of getting the three of them in big trouble, he did what he does a lot - changed his mind. But not in time. I agree the whole time I felt like we were privy to a moment in time we weren’t meant to see.. it was outstanding. And it was so surprising to see REAL Lestat. I never realized till we saw him in the storm and how different he was acting... but that’s the first time we get to see REAL Lestat.. 😢 The Lestat that Louis remembered wasn’t actual clear memories... they were manipulated memories to always paint Louis as the victim and Lestat always the bad guy. There was so much sweetness between them and a softness that wasn’t in memory Lestat. On to season 3 cousins !! ♥️

I don't think the general public can truly grasp the appreciation that we have to the accent detail. Because whew girl... it's almost NEVER right or even close to it on movies and shows. Sis!!! This season made me rethink my whole plan to become a rich vampire's companion in a spacious loft in Dubai!! Armand (who is so beautiful, he might actually be a real vampire)- gave me "insecure f*ck boi" all season! I read all the books, so i knew what was coming, but this was a fresh take on a 80+ year old lie, which made the betrayal even more heartbreaking!! That final scene between Lestat & Louie had me screaming at the tv, "You don't deserve Lestat!!" If this show is looked over AGAIN during award season, we riot!!!

You would love Anne Rices actual novels. Read the Feast of All Saints. Amazing history, amazing story. And the actual books Ann wrote,Lestat was a favorite of mine. He was a Scandinavian prince who had his family slaughtered by Armond. Luis was always a mess and Interview was my least fav book. But Lestat and Queen of the Damned were intricate, detailed and transported the reader into that world. Ancient Egypt, Rome, France and finally New Orleans. Which was were Anne and her poet husband lived. (my favs are Belinda, Exit to Eden, Cry to Heaven & Feast of All Saints) Her child Christopher Rice is also an amazing writer, Gay true crime. If you ever pick up any of her work, do Feast of All Saints. Brutally beautiful. 💕

That explains why Lestat looked so weak right before Claudia and Madeleine died. He was weakened from saving Louis. He couldnt save them both. I was so happy Louis went back home. Louis definitely owed Lestat an apology and a Thank You. And Im so glad they grieved thier daughter as parents. Louis stayed at the same hotel as Rowan in Mayfair Witches.

Looking back at some clips of Lestat last season, I wonder how much is really stuff he did. I mean he did it but the take on it was through Louis and Armand’s coloring of his feelings about Lestat as well. In Lestat’s recount of the fight, you see Louis gave as much as he got. Lestat’s face was bloody but in the original account Lestat has no blood on him. His face is not damaged when he is dragging Louis by the throat. Also here Lestat seemed afraid of Louis and uncomfortable. He wasn’t sure if Louis had come to fight him. He looks like he took a slight step back or a very subtle flinch with the board in front of him when Louis steps toward him. I think Lestat is so destitute because for 77 years he has been waiting on Louis to figure out he saved him. When he says “I knew you would figure it out and I was right all hail me”. His voice broke and he had to turn from facing Louis. He was like you took this damn long and you stayed with Armand 77 years. That must have tortured his soul knowing Louis was loving Armand for 77 years and hating him. He was broken by Sept 8 knowing Louis hurt himself and Armand again blocked Louis from knowing how much he still loved him. Of course Armand could not tell this because he needed Louis to believe Lestat hated him and had come to Paris to seek revenge to kill him as well as Claudia. This show has so much happening I have to now go back and watch season 1 with the understanding that the Lestat I’m seeing is not truly Lestat but is Louis version of him through his grief and pain. We don’t really see Lestat until this very last scene and also with the knowledge that he loves so greatly he saved Louis and has been tortured for 77 years not being able to save Claudia and losing Louis to Armand. So Lestat is not the villain after all and I’m mad at Armand too. lol!

The way Lestat was wrong about Louis "figuring it out" 😭😭😭 He severely overestimated Louis. Although i doubt it would have made much of a difference, Louis was already resolved to leave Lestat behind and make Armand kiss his feet 🤷🏽‍♀️ I wonder if Armand was being sincere when he was telepathically telling Louis to leave Paris. I can't decide if he did know that Louis would go back to take revenge on the coven or if he planned on ditching the coven too to meet up with Louis later and show off their relationship to Lestat. And there's absolutely no way Armand would choose to go from being the coven leader to being a grunt under Santiago's boot even if his original plan of getting rid of Louis and Claudia worked. Just like his first coven, he would have "deleted" them all and started again with a new coven. Or he would have tried to manipulate and recruit a grieving Lestat...

I agree about the performances and everything. This show is delicious. I also agree about the showdown at the theater. I wanted to see more fighting, more vamps burning up, more everything. That part was too fast. The 90s movie tells us who turns Daniel at the end, but I’ve never read the books so I won’t say it out loud here.
