I'm sorry guys, Pozzecco is a clown. I don't even understand why on earth Recalcati was seated by that 'bufone'. They played rubbish in Milano and when matters the most this Pozzecco person perfoming an Italian comedy. Their Timeouts were embarrassing and ridiculous, in fact Melli called him out several times throughout the tournament. I believe Italy has a good generation to do something good and to lift a trophy. The feeling is they are throwing key years away by placing people like this Pozzeco person in the bench. Trincchieri would have taken the team further. I would love to see them fighting in the semis/final at some point. Some guys are getting old and we have World Cup, Olympics and Eurobasket in the next 3 years. 23,24, and 25.
@clockworkfrustration2 жыл бұрын
@@UnderUrSkin4696 No one here believes Pozzecco is a master strategist, but in tournaments like these teams are more in need of confidence boosts and team spirit building than anything else. Italy beat Serbia without Galinari and managed to become even more likeable for their fighting spirit. So, in these terms Pozzecco was successfull, no matter what you and I might think.

Add in the fact that Germany won the bronze without their full squad too. If Moritz Wagner and Maxi Kleber were there, you would have had an entire starting lineup of nba players and another, Isaiah Hartenstein, coming off the bench. If they can get all of these guys to play, Germany can definitely compete with for more medals at the World Cup and Olympics. The future’s looking very bright and u guys are gonna be a force if not now, very soon.
@giuseppemaggio5894 Жыл бұрын
@@anuprashsunuwar6861 Yes but no. Nowadays there isn't a big difference between being a Euroleague and an NBA player. It's kinda better to have a player who is a protagonist in the EL rather than an NBA bench warmer. Hartenstein is a solid rebounder but he barely averages 5 ppg. In general Germany has a lot of great centers and PF but not a great back court. They gotta put all of their hope and trust in Schroeder who isn't necessarily the most consistent PG out there
@anuprashsunuwar6861 Жыл бұрын
@@giuseppemaggio5894 I agree that leagues in europe and even the nbl is closing the gap on the nba. I will say that Hartenstein may just a role player in the nba but let’s not forget that even nba benchwarmers play bigger roles for their international teams. Take for example, Tomas Satoransky. He was the backup point guard for the bulls when playing in the nba but was the star for the Czech Republic because he had a bigger role. Led them to qualify for the Olympics and even eliminated Canada, whose whole team consists of nba players, in the process. I’m sure Hartenstein will be much more effective for Germany than he is in the nba. And as a laker fan, I know Schroeder can be frustrating to watch sometimes but I think that he and Wagner still make up the best backcourt in Europe.

In other championships it was normal to see Spain winning. I was not expecting to see them winning this one. Honestly, I did not know most of the players. 19:40 Barely a couple of minutes earlier they stole a possesion from Spain (and free thrown for France + possesion). They whistled end of possesion after a shot and a Garuba offensive reboud when the ball clearly touched the rim, they also charged Scariolo with a technical foul as he complained about that. Referee's answer: "I know, we made a mistake, but we can't just undo it". I'm 100% sure that was called because they felt they "owed" it to the spanish team.

Overall this was the most exciting basketball tournament I’ve ever experienced in my 20 years of living. Unfortunately it had a lot of ups and downs, especially as a fan of Turkey. We got done wrong many times. Most of all in the Georgia game. The fact that our players played their heart out, and didn’t get any calls. Only to get jumped by the ejected players of the other team, as well as the police force tasked to protect us, is just disturbing! Rather than Georgia, I am mad at FIBA for letting such an act of unprofessionalism get by unpunished. Im sure if it were certain countries the double standard would apply. Thankyou for shedding some light on that situation. On another note I watched all the games in awe, and especially enjoyed every Germany performance!

We were in the easiest group of the Eurobasket following some 'experts' advise and betting houses. Embarrassing was the adjective for our loss against Belgium, people kept talking. Lithuania was gonna smash us to bits... Well they had this lucky tip in at the buzzer (it looked like Volleyball rather than bball), then we sent them home. Finland with loads of 'wolves' in the crowd and 15 up at some point half time, we came back by schoolarizing those fellas and making an statement, people kept talking. Germany playing in German sole and with the best team in the last 15 years... Summary of that game might be Usman Garuba's block on Schröder looking at his eyes and denying with his head 'Not tonight Dennis'. Last stop was the EuroBasket Finals against France, 3rd team from the 'strongest' group of the Eurobasket in the last 20 years we had to face in the KnockOut stage, masterclass on D, masterclass on keeping our game up, masterclass on how not to fail when facing adversity and we all Know the final result (Shame we couldn't face Slovenia to send ALL Group B home). Nice recap, however you could have talked more about Poland and Ponitka's only third triple-double in the history of EuroBasket.

Okay that's troubling, not only did I not know this tournament was a thing but also that Team GB was playing in it. Despite living in the UK, if it wasn't for this video I literally would have had no idea we participated...

Tbh the teams that played GB didn't know that they participated 😂 All jokes aside, best of luck to GB in the future.

I'm still clueless: why basketball is so impopular in Great Britain?

What on earth is "impopular" ??

@@KrlKngMrtssn haha man you are a lot LAMER than once thought.. taking the piss at people making mistakes in English just to make yourself feel better is the epitome of being a cunt. Anxo, basketball is so unpopular (is this better, teacher?) in the UK because besides football that is obviously number 1 sport in the UK, they have a variety of sports that follow in popularity in comparison.. Cricket, rugby is massive in the UK, tennis, badminton.. Only recently they've started building public courts etc, but my main guess for the unpopularity also has to do with money.. European basketball generally doesn't pay well enough to make local authorities and mainly sponsors/club presidents to spend as much as in other countries to develop the sport further.. My feeling is, if and when Fiba & Euroleague find a way to collaborate and create one league, then the UK will definitely invest in this sport.. For the time being things will likely remain as they are.. :)

the fact that the star spread in Eurobasket looks a looooot like the NBA playoffs should wake the NBA up.

The semi finals hype was not fading out, if you want to see NBA stars just watch the NBA
@KrlKngMrtssn2 жыл бұрын
Well said. It's a heavily pro-Balkans review. Eastern propaganda basically. The narrator is Eastern European and buys into all the NBA hype around overrated (and overweight) Doncic. (And he probably only knows English as a second language)
@dimitrios90942 жыл бұрын
@@KrlKngMrtssn dude, how many times do you have to mention this..?? If you think his views are biased because he grew up in the Balkans fine, but propaganda is a big accusation to make, meaning he intended to gain something by promoting NBA players.. His views are based on NBA ballers, like it or not, that's the stance he takes in his comments.. Now the claims about Luka Doncic, my friend, THIS is plain propaganda because he clearly caused some trauma to you and your teams.. Like Jokic, he could gain another 40kgs and still will ruin any team. Lastly, what's your mother tongue? I assume not English, judging by your name you were expecting more praise on Schröder..? Don't behave like a bitter child because he said stuff you don't agree with..

The games of france vs Turkey and Itlay were refereed terribly too.... If you ask me, France shouldn't have gone to overtime either game
@davidrosales15942 жыл бұрын
To me you were quite unfair with Spain at the end when calling out that thing that wans't a fault on Lorenzo Brown, that was mostly a fix beacuse of what the referees did minutes earlier to Spain, calling another nonexistant fault and then calling a tech on Scariolo,
