The man frank you showed off in the video was so nice to me, and sold me that blue box boba fett for $25! I also picked up blue box Yoda and darth maul to start of a small Star Wars collection I’ve always wanted.

Funko Pop market is softening. with the exception of a few classic grails, EVERYTHING is being reprinted & restocked. Funko is clearly signaling that it wants to be in the same category as Hasbro & Mattel. making niche collectibles for a speculator market that thrives on reselling is cool for Funko’s “street cred”but all those aftermarket sales dont put money in their pocket. so slowly they have been cashing in on that resale value by re-releasing vaulted Pops to eager collectors. new releases are OVERLY mass produced, molds reused over & over for Diamond/Scented/Flocked/GITD/Metallic/Blacklight/DieCast versions. very few of the Pops released post-pandemic are worth more than double-digits because theyve been reproduced & restocked to hell. Jiraiya on Toad was set to be a grail then Funko/Hot Topic harpooned it & it just cant gain that value back. same for Obelisk + DemonDog + Azula with GameStop… what doesnt get restocked by the big retailers is in constant rotation with an SE sticker at the small shops. u can tell this hobby has hit a very hard impasse based on this very video: virtually NONE of the Pops focused on were made post-pandemic. look at the Pops on this guy’s wall- nearly all pre-pandemic. at this point Funko collectors are just Eskimo Brothers passing around the same “grails” from 2011-2019 while the 3 years of Funko since are lucky to hit $50 before theyre restocked to shit. there is no future for a collectible company that’s most desired products are out of production & only available on the secondary market while their new products litter Walmart & Target clearance sections.
