Something something red coins and different behaviour depending on whether you spawn at cp1 or cp2. For example, on the third time through the red coin at the entrance to the first room (with the loop and snowman) is not there (in the bit before where you throw shells, a shell collects it), so it allows one entity to spawn at the top right which changes how the room behaves.

What a fantastic Troll level! So my guess is this: The shell you throw off screen at 31:12 is grabbing one of the last 3 pink coins you usually get at the end. So the third time going through the level you'll just (need to) get the last 2 before the key door. But for the rest? Dang Bart, you did a superb job 🔥🔥🔥

Probably not, because there are no ways to get a shell in there from the sides, but there's a vertical tunnel in the extended part of the section at 25:30 with a key door at the top, that gives you a coin when you throw the shell My guess is the Twisters give ya that one, which makes it so another entity can spawn in that world, so it changes how something interacts in a nearby area, most likely the ending
