Nice buck male!! Both got fish too nice! Fished directly across from there in feb. Saw some nice females caught fat with eggs. Biting double egg patterns. Went back up a few weeks later and the big girls were all gone and only dark colored buck males remained. Nothing really big though. Saw one guy get one just a bit smaller than your big one here. My uncle and i went 0 for 2 last trip ughh. I need to redeem myself! Steelhead fishing isn't easy!.. My first trip to that location years back in 2002 i hooked a monster chromer there on a tiny black flashback beadhead hairsear like a size 16#. But i only had a 5wt at the time and was just way out gunned imo. Ran me ragged way down stream from there into my backing and eventually broke me off. Been searchin for a steelhead like that off and on ever since. Heading back out in a few days gonna fish the DSR this time. Never been there before. Just gonna look for some good lookin water and give it our best. Nice fly tyin too man! Fish on!!

Awesome video man! I have come up with a fly tying and fishing challenge if you want to do it. Steps: 1. Tie one fly(film it). 2. Go out to a random river or one you know. 3. Fish with only that one fly until you catch a fish. 4. If you get it stuck in a tree or something either the challenge is over or you climb the tree. 5. catch and cook the fish. So all in all the title could be called: One fly catch and cook challenge. Tell me what you think of this idea!! Maybe give it a go. I think it would be a fun fishing challenge for the channel.

Yeah I noticed that when I was editing too. I have a tendency to refer to everything as masculine for whatever reason. I do it in a lot of other videos too

Jess, are you gonna try for some chromers this winter? Those videos from last year are awesome!

Were you guys the only ones catching fish? If so, what was the reaction of the other anglers when you released? Very cool that you fish with your own flies. Anxious to try the ones I got from you. Thanks for the video.

That looks like a blast! Great video. I grew up in that area and wish I had been introduced with that as a young kid. At that age we were just as happy to be catching bream and 10” bass in the farm pond 😂

Broken net, but not a broken steelhead. Well done 👍

Addicting is the right word. Five trips to that river for Chrome and I've been empty handed each time. I learn a ton every trip, and it's just a matter of time before it all comes together. But I can't wait to do it all again.
