I'm amazed honestly. My ac clutch was not moving nor was the fan. Tried it and the clutch is spinning and it is absolutely frigid in the car now. The fan is still off but that is a way easier way cheaper fix. Salute to you sir

I can't thank you enough for this video. After some checks, I was pretty sure everything else in the ac system was working, which led me to the temp controls and this video. The ac in my 2008 civic was blowing like the temp control was between hot and cold. Now its freezing cold, and its 95 degrees out here.

Before you change this setting, the compressor comes on when you activate the defrost automatically, it just never showed you. It does this to help pull moisture out of the air to keep the windows from fogging up. Most cars actually do this automatically as well. Next time your windows are foggy or frosty, activate the ac and the frost/fog will clear away faster. I do leave my car set in the mode you have here because I like having the manual control.

Tried this in a last ditch effort to fix my AC before bringing my car into the shop. And it actually worked?! My AC was staying around the same temp, no matter what mode or knob setting I used. I checked all the fuses/relays, compression clutch, and refrigerant. This led me to believe it was a fault with the climate control panel itself...sure enough, doing this reset it and it works great now.

This works! The stupid mechanic tried to say my compressor was gone ($1500.00) although he didn't know that I replaced it a year earlier (with an engine swap). I did this and my A/C is working perfectly...oh yeah, I'm in Florida....so yeah.

Thank you!! i watched your video and a few others last evening and jotted down steps to take this morning....1st thing, check if air blows through all vents and yes!! it works! i had gone out to check the blower wheel last evening and jiggled it a bit, then put the cabin filter back in place and this morning? cold air coming through!! if i hadn't watched your video, i wouldn't have had a clue and would have forked out a lot of $ in having the whole ac looked at and worked on. your video triggered my memory of a week ago when i took out the cabin filter and the air filter to 'clean' them...then reinstalled. i'm guessing i hit the blower wheel in a certain way that prevented it from moving?? Thank you again!!!

Its the air mode control motor not the blend door motor, there is a video here how to replace it fairly easy fix.

I think this makes the AC controls manual and gets rid of the auto/ac setting. Read that somewhere.

The only part of the ac near the glove box is the blower motor. It could be bearings, but the buttons wouldn't affect anything there. In the dash there is a valve that opens and closes when the heat is turned on, because it lets warm engine coolant through the heater core. That makes a dull 'thud' sound when it opens sometimes.

Sounds like your blend door motor is bad. I'm actually going to replace it if this reset doesn't fix the problem.

Yo I had that problem, what I did was just switch it back to only vents facing my face and leave it on for a minute or two, and then switch it back to foot vents then rinse and repeat. It worked for me so it should work for you, and if it does I wouldnt recommend doing both feet and face ac vents uust leave it to face.

Check you anti-freeze coolant level. If it's low you will have no heat
