I've been thinking of getting this drone for skating... Seems really good.

I like it a lot! The tracking is so much improved. Haven’t tried it in a bowl yet though. (Still on the planning.)

Coooool! Do you think it’s fast enough to handle filming while riding in a pumptrack ?
@TheRollingRaptor19 күн бұрын
I think it is, on the condition that it's set to follow you far, so it's not going to lose you in sharp turns. I'm pretty sure I've never reached a speed of 42 km/h on a pumptrack, so it should be able to stay on our tail. 🙂

Nice vid, thanks. About that lens protector, it looks like there is no glass in it. Correct?
@TheRollingRaptor19 күн бұрын
Yes, correct! It's mostly a ridge protecting the lens, which in most cases should be enough. Unless the drone flies straight against a protruding piece of rock or so.

@@TheRollingRaptor Thanks, I scratched the lens flying into a branch. It scratches easily so be careful. Is it an option to keep the ND4 on during daytime?
@TheRollingRaptor19 күн бұрын
@ I believe so. Even with the ND32 the footage gets a bit overexposed, so the ND4 won’t do any harm even when it gets a little darker.

could you test low light condition? i am thinking to compare it with the Neo. The Neo is terrible in low light condition?
@TheRollingRaptor18 күн бұрын
I'll certainly try that, but grant me some time. Lots of other videos to edit too and unfortunately very little time. But I want to test it in low light myself! 👍

I just received my X1 Pro Max and I am very, very disappointed. All the KZbin videos only mention good things, but nobody mentions what’s missing! For example, the camera of the Pro Max is excellent, but did you know that you won’t be able to use it to take photos if you fly it in manual mode using the beacon + joysticks? In that mode, it can only record video. Do you know that you will never be able to adjust the exposure levels in automatic modes and save them so that your recordings don’t look like the sky is completely white? Why haven’t photography modes like AEB with 3 steps been included, as the old DJI Mini 2 already has? There is a good camera in the Pro Max that is used at 10%. How is it possible that functions from the old X1 have been removed, such as gesture control? Did you know that if you change settings like muting the voice or lowering the volume, it only works as long as you don’t turn off the drone, and when you turn it back on, it doesn’t remember the settings? There are so many flaws and so many absurd things that nobody talks about that I think Zero Robotics has sold us an experiment to finally sell a properly functioning drone with everything it should include in a year. It's disappointing.

Thank you for sharing your experiences! Those are valuable insights, certainly for people interested in drone photography. For me, the photographic shortcomings of the new HOVERAir X1 PRO (MAX) are less relevant, since I'll be mostly using it for recording action videos. I'm not into drone photography. However, I can agree on some other points. I indeed don't like the overexposure either, even when using the ND filters, but in the newest update, you should be able to adjust the ISO and shutter speed through the preview function on the app, even for the automatic flight paths. As for the LOUD volume: I'm sure that'll be fixed in one of the upcoming updates. I strongly advise you to send an email to support@hoverair.com to ask them to fix those issues, and hopefully they will take care of it. Take the X1: at first it couldn't do a lot of the cool stuff it now does either.

I will look at the shortcomings you mention with my pro that just arrived. Many of them sound like soft/firmware upgrades that could be upcoming.

@@abricot68 Okay. But why would you think that? Next year, that’ll still be a very fine piece of technology and if I can still use it, then I’ve got all reason to be happy. The point of this camera is that I can use it for making videos and I see no reason why I shouldn’t be able to use it any longer. :-)
