I'm actually super excited for this high school football game I've always wanted there to be a high school football game where you can play and dynasty and lead you're team to the state championship I can't wait I really hope that your high school football players can get offers from colleges And it would be cool if they added in multiple different colleges from juco to D3 to D1 teams and if you're player goes D1 maybe your high school prestige goes up or something like that

Gridiron Champions didn't give you actual videos, monthly dev updates, and host playtesting. We wouldn't do that to you guys! Making games just takes a lot of time, especially with a small indie team.

You wouldn't need a license to use the likeness of PUBLIC schools because the majority of them are not copyrighted, and as long as you are using their name image, and likeness in a positive light you should be okay. They honestly could contact the states school department and work out a deal and or individual school counties in each state and work out a deal with them. The tricky part is when you get to Sports mascots and Sports logos due to a lot of high schools just copying NFL / college teams' names and logos and when you get into private schools, most likely, those are trademarked /copyrighted due to private schools being more like business. However, No one can copyright a high school logo, even if they designed it. Since schools are not businesses, there is no consumer confusion about which logo represents which school. Hence, there's no need for any trademark protection. Trademarks: Protect brand names, logos, slogans, and other signs that define a business's brand. Trademarks are established through the common use of a mark in the course of business. Registered trademarks can last indefinitely, but they must be renewed every 10 years. Trademarks are meant to protect the consumer from confusion, not the business. Copyrights: Protect original creative works, such as literary works, music, movies, TV shows, software code, video games, lyrics, and sound recordings. Copyrights are automatically generated upon creation and expire after a set period. Typically expires after a set time and then enters into the public domain, most High schools' copyrights would have expired due to the schools being founded before the 1976 copyright Act "All works published in the United States before 1924 are in the public domain. Works published after 1923, but before 1978 are protected for 95 years from the date of publication. If the work was created, but not published, before 1978, the copyright lasts for the life of the author plus 70 years. Again, you wouldn't copyright a logo, you would trademark it. So they have the chance to do something most AAA companies won't do, just because they can't make this ironclad IP where other Video game studios can use the Public high schools. Which in turn just allows most competition.

Your first sentence is exactly why a small video game studio wouldn’t do that. “You should be okay” is not something you should ever hear when trying to create and monetize something for public consumption. All it takes is for one party to object to something and find a legal loophole. There could be defamation or misrepresentation claims, especially with the inclusion of boosters being introduced into the game. A high school athletic association could object to inclusion based on that. The sheer number of schools is another factor. For example, Oklahoma has 340 schools that play high school football, and a state like Georgia has 416. That’s 756 schools from just two states alone. They risk way too much and would stretch an already thin team by attempting something like that.

This looks interesting. Do they have the small rural schools playing 11-man football? Here in Montana our rural schools often play 8-man or 6-man. I think a 6-man video game would be awesome to play because it is such a wide open game.

Meh not yet I've chatted with the game devs on discord and their putting a lot of time into this they want to have a fully working game before they release and they are taking community suggestions the thing is if your looking for a better madden or CFB game than just give up nobody's forcing you to play their budget is upwards of 70 million dollars compared to the other indie or double A games

@@bhristian1027 Incorrect. The developers never worked on a single maximum football game. Source? Me. I am the lead gameplay dev. The publisher Spear Interactive simply marketed the game. Pyramid Lake games only worked on sections of dynasty mode to help David Winters who was solely responsible for those older Max Football games.

I'll support, but i don't see the game coming out any time soon. Due to having 0 player face models, as well as the amount of teams, and they are still figuring out footwork for the game as you could see when the qb was backpedaling, needs a bit a work. Who knows 🫣
