Guys did our old pal Mike suddenly become like... a WAY better guitar player? These demo riffs absolutely SHRED. You're crushing it Mike! Amazing as always!
@Gma7788 Жыл бұрын
He's getting male order muscles. The problem is that clean sound doesn't remind you of anything. To you its just a sound but to the rest of us that sound is OLD. LIKE real old. What grind got to do with surf? What does surf mean to you? It's nothing like the beach boys. It sounds like digital surf squares.

i’ve been waiting to see that jazzmaster make it into a video since you posted about it on instagram. absolutely insane finish, and the gold guard pairs so beautifully. and, of course, stellar playing as always

Mike, your playing and sound here is just as amazing as I've come to expect. You're killing it, and thanks for adding to the legacy of the Jazzmaster!

Dude, I may not be buying or really all that interested in the pedal and just watched anyway. I love your playing especially love the tones you got around 2:00-4:00 and like you said around 6:00 the Japan Fuzz sound is super great for the octave sounds. Really balanced (IMO) and sometimes bassy which is how I love fuzz. it has the ability to do the harsher fuzz sound as you shown in the initial control moving, but I love what you got here. Great demo and keep up the awesome videos you make.

I was surprised to see you enjoying the harmonics control turned all the way up 😉 What a great pedal, sounds awesome! I always love it when you get a thick sounding fuzz that retains clarity and note definition.

Amazing playing! I like it. The Fuzzrite side is excellent. The Kay Fuzz tone side is ok. I think the Beetronics Octahive 2 does it better.
@jstnxprsn Жыл бұрын
The only thing "surfy" about that is the name. Reminds me of a Big Muff I played through for a short while, so generally no thanks. Maybe for a specific sound a song requires. The mass control is not bass, but clearly low mid. The "harmonic" knob is a high cut knob. Enjoy, but I'll keep my NUX MG30. Lots of killer amp/cabs and distortion effects there.

Fantastic playing as usual Mike, I'm pretty sure you could plug into a potato and make it sound great. I'm actually a very recent new member of the Jazzmaster-owners club - I picked up a Sunburst AmPro II - and your videos have been invaluable. Will be swapping in some Novak pickups, hitting my rattly trem bar with a hammer and might just switch to a gold -anodized pickguard as well. Hope you're having a good one. 🖖

Considering surfy industries pride themselves on achieving classic tones from the 60s I would have been really interested in hearing how this pedal stacked up in that respect. Presuming that's what they had in mind when they created it.
@bristlefist Жыл бұрын
Ps I just found a review by delicious audio that basically does just this and explains the harmonics function a little better. It's actually what I've been wanting from a fuzz for a long time

When you rolled the harmonics knob to 12 o'clock it sounded like the Sex Pistols.

Problem with skilled musicans is that they can make every pedal sound good. BTW this should be based on fuzzes used when surf was still a thing. So kinda fuzzrite, fuzztone, early tonebender and buzztone style of tone. Kinda before Fuzz Face and Big Muff era.
