So many things I love about this game, so many things I hate... What on earth is this daily challenge ranking up system, and why is it broken?

Actually yesterday I finished all 3 of my active daily challenges and it unlocked a bonus one which was saying that If you win a match it counts as completing a daily challenge. This way I unlocked like 5 more armory items that required 2-3 daily challenges each.

I feel like SO MANY PEOPLE would love this if it were a $25-30 expansion. $70 for a movement update with "new" weapons and only remastered maps is absurd. This is literally the first COD I haven't bought since the original MW2 in 2009 and I'm not even sure I'll buy it on sale in the future. I think I'm over it 🤷🏼‍♂

The armoury system is the absolute worst. You can’t unlock certain guns without doing it. Some daily challenges require you to use things you can’t unlock yet because they’re hidden behind the armoury. My daily challenges aren’t working so I can’t even use it. Once you’ve finished all 3 daily challenges though, each win can count as a point towards your unlocks. And I believe they stack. That’s the hidden bonus challenge. Great video, Will. I agree with everything you’ve said.

I belive the armory unlock systems is just a way for you to prioritise certain equipment to unlock it first instead of having to wait until you get to rank 50 for example. I think that's how it works. You either rank up to a specific rank or you prioritise it with the armory unlock to get it faster

The armoury system is to get people logging in to the game but I think primarily it’s to funnel people into buying things from the store because a lot of people cba with the armoury system

I think a simple solution to the skin problem is give players an option to toggle the skins off. The player can see their skin, but you just see a generic soldier. Problem solved... This isn't a new concept, there are loads of games that do this... EDIT. I believe that after you complete all the daily challenges you gain a point by winning a game in multiplayer...

Fyi: you can quick unlock stuff through the “dmz”ese whatever is going to be called. Just extract with it in your loadout (not backpack) and you dont have to do the stupid challenges or wait for lv’s

Passing on This cod, waiting for XDefiant and The Finals, because they are actually something new and refreshing. xD just a classic cod, sure, but its not filled with maps many have played 100000000000x times, has its on mechanics. Finals is all around new concept, like a hybrid BR obj/TDM (ish) pvp. With BF dynamic destruction. Nostalgia will only last for so long. glad that Mw3 is an “improvement” but the cheap way they went about it, gonna kill the player base. My remaster game I’ll spend 70$ on is the full like all games in one Naruto connections

If you want to unlock a certain piece of equipment or even a gun, instead of doing the daily challeges you can exfil with them in the zombies mode and you with unlock them. I've done it with the drill charge, stim, semtex and some guns.

@WillfromWork It won't work for killstreaks or perks, but at least you can exfil with the equipment and use the challeges for the rest. Also, if you complete 3 challenges for whatever mode you're playing (mulitplayer, zombies, warzone) you will get a 4th bonus challege. So I guess technically you could complete 12 per day. Still I'm not a fun of the system.

The reason everyone wants to be nostalgic is because games were better 10+ years ago. Not because for reasons you might think, but because for 1: There were less games that people could play, meaning that gamers weren’t abandoning games because a new title gets released every month. 2: There used to be a social community for older games where everyone would communicate over game chat instead of hanging out in discord. 3: Game developers used to be geeks that had extreme passion for their games where they would play test against eachother and believed that if it wasn’t fun for them it wouldn’t be fun for anyone. 4: This is my own opinion, but I believe that there are new generations entering the work force that just want the paycheck.. so ya…

I'm so torn on whether to buy this game. The nostalgia seems fantastic. Playing a few rounds with the lads on maps that we used to play when we were in school (early 30s now)....jesus though, cannot get past the fact that it's pretty much dlc. My serious cod days were from 2007-2012. I’m a very causal player now and I picked up this game out of nostalgia yesterday and I feel scammed. Call of duty used to be a masterpiece now it feels like barely any effort has been put in, all of the levelling and unlock systems are complete trash, built around making you go online every day, micro-transactions and silly skins. Feel completely let down that these companies even have the same name as activision, infinity ward because even though I know nothing about the cod industry anymore I can definitely tell you it’s not the same people at all who used to make cod4, mw2 etc that work there anymore, seems like greedy industry got to the developer companies. They even let the gun progress and skins carry over from the last cod so on day 1 there’s teams with maxed out guns from the old cod running around in silly outfits spraying people who haven’t unlocked create a class yet lol.

The unlocking of equipment....If you want to unlock stuff and there are only 3 daily challenges available....if you do them all for say the flash grenade it will unlock.....now the challenges are complete you don't have to wait till next day to say unlock ghost....just select it that it your next unlock you want to do and repeat the daily challenges you've already done.....this will still count towards unlocking ghost

Couldn't have summed it up better myself. Will be playing this casually until the end of December only and not wasting my time grinding unlocks with this convoluted bs system. Groot is getting on my tits. I think I played MW2 until February before stopping altogether so it'll have an even shorter lifecycle than that as a multiplayer imo. There is definitely hope of a better Warzone experience though, particularly if they double down on the nostalgia by bringing Verdansk back in March. Sniping needs needs to be further improved though, or at least the snipers themselves. There's still nothing resembling a Kar98 or Swiss.

My Thoughts on the Game as Someone at Max Level Already: The Bad: - The SBMM is REALLY bad. - 80% of the maps are terrible (too big and/or too campy). - EVERYONE CAMPS and many people abuse headglitches - The amount of meta weapon usage is outrageously bad (there are more than 100 different weapons and I only die by the same 5 guns). - Some weapons are way better than many of the other options and not by a small amount - A lot of gameplay affecting bugs like: Flak Jacket aka eod plating not working, loadouts popping up on screen out of nowhere - Extremely degenerate algorithm for SBMM, matchmaking, and gameplay cycle - Time To Kill feels wildly inconsistent sometimes, mostly between different games - No Prestige system for levels after 55 (which is absolutely pathetic that it isn't in the game) - Terrible progression system for unlocks (way too grind and time consuming) - Way too much stuff is locked behind Daily Challenge completions (estimated 7 days of playtime to unlock just everything EXCLUDING attachments) - Helicopter scorestreak (8 kills) feels oppressive on some maps, especially since no one uses rocket launches because they're terrible and never useful for anything else (except RPG, but it can't be effectively used against Helicopter) - and more... The Good: - Great mechanics for movement - Game is smooth and plays responsively - Guns feel great (when they work) - Kills are satisfying AF - Non sweaty lobbies are really fun to play in - So much weapon variety Summary: Base mechanics of the game are good, but there are too many negative qualities that ruin the gameplay experience.

You're enjoying it cause it's a fixed version of MW2. It's literally the feedback and complaints that have been ignored throughout the years telling the devs how to fix MW2. Like removing visual recoil, add slide canceling back, etc. But instead now you gotta pay for the fix and buy all the old maps again. Even then I don't think it's worth $70. I'm used to the movement and visual recoil in MW2 now so I think that's an advantage for me vs other players. And I don't need a 2009 simulator. I lived it, I played it, and I had bought all the map packs and they're crazy if I'm gonna pay for that all over again. Have fun buying an update and paying full price for a game that essentially released 14 years ago in 2009. I'll keep with MW2 for now (cause it's essentially the same) but I'm not giving activision a dime until I see new (ORIGINAL) content. And the campaign is such a shame to have been released with such half assed effort. I'd have rather them leave it out of the MW3 release than ruin story. It takes time to make a good campaign but when poorly made it's bad forever.

It's absolutely outrageous that they've charged a full premium price for what is clearly less than half a game. The biggest problem, which isn't really just a problem with this game but a lot of recent ones is SBMM - I'm not having fun, and that's the killer. I get one or two games were I do well my K/D will go up, and then you get put in lobbies with tryhards and get bet over and you're in an endless cycle. it's not fun. Without SBMM you might be put with one or two guys whoa re your level, not an entire lobby. Honestly I think ive had enough of cod multiplayer because of SBMM

Agree with a lot of your points, but the carry-forward feature should have been a staple a long, long time ago. We talk about spending money on the same game every year, we should be able to take what we spend money on into every game in the franchise. Of course, there is always a downside to that, I hate seeing the Groot skin, but I would rather see that then not have my Shadow Company skin. You take the good with the bad. That’s what is severely lacking in the COD community

I'm coming from CoD1 and CoD:UO and played 3 years with rifle only modes. Skipped CoD 2, it was not my cup of tea with the prone gitch and lack of sprinting, then moved to CoD4 and played a couple of years both casual and had wars with promod. After these I strongly feel MW2 and the quick scope was a mistake. Not to mention they removed the dedicated, player hosted / rented servers, the modding and the console / cfg tailoring. That was a downfall and I couldn't take CoD seriously since that moment. Now sniper is back. Woohoo. I'm so glad I have to pump almost a mag into an enemy, but a sniper can quickscope me from any point of the map. Not to mention, sometimes it requires more time to ADS a freakin pistol, than a sniper and I have to pump those bullets while I'm praying to the gods of CoD. All this because flinch is kinda non existent in this game. If the croshair could move more radically when a sniper is under constant hits, that could give a tiny little chance to anyone who isn't wielding a sniper or marksman. But at least they covered the bullets with 1-2kg of flour so it leaves a white trace and it easier to identify a snipers position from distance...
