Have you tried Escalation? It's another great small card game from Knizia, hard to find but can be mocked up using two regular playing card decks as you need 5 and 6 of some numbers as well as 3 wilds and 2 passes (I use Jokers for these special cards). You take turns playing cards from low to high (1-13) and the next player need to increase the previously played card(s) value. You can play multiples of the same value and add them together, so two fives are 10 in value, three sevens is 21, etc. The wilds are any number between 1-7 and the passes copies the total that's on top of the stack (what was played last). When you can't play any more you have to take the stack and start a new round. When one player plays their last card, the round is over. Count the number of cards you've collected, least amount wins that round! One of his best 🙂

Thanks for a great review! 🙂 Poison is a must-try game and among my all-time favourites from Knizia along with Modern Art, Lost Cities, Blue Moon City, etc. He's done so many great designs! Regarding the scoring for Poison, in the rules for my Playroom-edition it says that you never discard the poison (the green cards) when comparing total amount of cards per colour, has that changed in this newer edition? Because I really like that they never can be discarded since that adds to the tension and risk of picking them up 🙂

YOU ARE CORRECT. I made a boo-boo on the video. The Green cards do not get discarded in the scoring process - only the red, blue, and purple should be sorted as I do in the video. Thank you for your response!

@@NewVentureGames No problem! 😁 It makes for interesting decisions regarding the poison-cards, when and where to place them, saving them for a pile of a colour that you know one of your opponents is going after, etc. Worst is when you have to take a pile containing three poison-cards, haha.
