Not sure if you or someone you know has access to the DEVS., but i think its in tarkov maybe... When someone is shot or dying sometimes they scream... sometimes scream and cry to the point it freaking makes you feel that 1 you just really shot someone's limb off or 2 you or one of your brothers are in a lot A LOT of pain, its almost cringe but very visceral and REAL! It really brings out some emotion, This or something like this would make this game NEXT LEVEL in terms of realism of war! I HOPE Something like this is present in this game on release!

I had the pleasure of fighting all those hardcore guys after you guys kicked AQI outta Anbar and they reconsolidated in Diyalah/Baqubah in ‘07. One of the other SLs in my platoon had been in Phantom Fury with the 1st Cav attached to the USMC. He called our fighting in Diyalah ‘’mini Fallujah”. Shit was tough. Can’t imagine what “big Fallujah” was like

What makes the 5.56 so destructive is its ability to tumble and ricochet in the body. 5.56 wont really do shit if its an in and out through meat, but I seen an Afghan get shot in the ass by a SAW and the round came out the bottom of his foot tearing everything down the inside of his leg. 7.62 is overall more dependable especially in todays environment with body armor being more advanced. I'm excited to see how the new 6.8mm the army is cooking up performs.

if they really want to make this hardcore, there should be a mechanic where if one of your guys get severely wounded you have to stabilize him him and evac him back to the amtrac, whether its dragging him or carrying him.

The sound design for the occlusion and reverb for weapon firing is top notch, probably some of the best I've heard in a game. Would like to hear it from a distance, to see if the game simulates the sound reflecting and making it super difficult to pin point firing point origin. The bullet flyby sounds are underwhelming though. The snaps and zips needs more substance, need to be louder, sharper and have more variation. Adding in some spinoff twirl sounds from impacts and ricochets would add a tone too. I'm sure this will come in the future though, based on how much they've focused on other areas of their sound design.

For those saying "not liking a Barrett M82A1 is heresy", Devildog is 100% correct, talk to any warfighter that lugged one of those around in the desert, they will all tell you the same thing... its a heavy rifle with lots of muzzle blast when fired and a heavy report. My only experience with one is at a range, and just lugging that fucker 100 yards to a bench that did not look dusty at all in the Florida Summer made me sweat balls, and when I shot it that damn thing found dust that I didn't even know existed. Lugging one of those around with a combat loadout in high heat and high stress environments would be akin to an NJP (Non-Judicial Punishment) of sorts.

I find it very fascinating how you've mentioned this game is inducing your PTSD. As someone who loves Mil-sim games, but has never seen combat irl it never occurred to me that these games could reach a level of realism where it could cause actual recall, and PTSD trauma. I think this game looks amazing and can't wait to play it, but I'm going to try to be more mindful of the sacrifices people are still making today while reliving dark moments of their life. This is looking pretty damn good so far. All they need to work on in my opinion is weapon handling animations and enemy AI. The weapon animations, especially reloading, look kinda stiff and dated for a game like this. But the details of the fingers moving around when holding the gun is a nice touch. Also I hope the FOV can be adjusted, the gun looks really close to the player’s face. The enemy AI is already scary and formidable, but I feel like they can increase the randomness and chaotic nature of the battle by having enemies that can blind fire behind cover and around corners, set traps, hide in strange positions, shoot as they run past doorways/hallways/alleyways and and try to shoot through doors and window shutters. Maybe they can also add miscellaneous details like dust particles and smoke swirls floating in front of your flashlight in interiors, dust plumes coming out of windows from explosions inside buildings, blood pools coming from bodies, and enemies writhing on the ground from wounds. I hope players can also use DMRs or snipers to provide support. I also hope players can go up against snipers and enemy machine gun emplacements. And I know they don’t have to do it but since it’s going on Steam I pray they add workshop support for custom situations or even different campaigns such as The Battle of Stalingrad, Battle of Hue or the Battle of Manila. It seems the devs are really good at taking feedback though and it’s still going to be in early access to so I trust them to definitely improve these things and deliver a wild game.

This is similar to Arma 3 except in Arma, once you get wounded you stay wounded. For example if you get shot in the leg, you now have a limp.
