The Landkreuzer P. 1000 "Ratte" (English: Land Cruiser P. 1000 "Rat") was a design for a 1000-ton tank to be used by Nazi Germany during World War II which may have been proposed by Krupp director Edward Grotte in June 1942, who had already named it "Landkreuzer". Submitted designs and drawings of the vehicle went under the names OKH Auftrag Nr. 30404 and E-30404/1, which were presented in December 1942. The tank was planned to be 1000 tonnes, being far heavier than the Panzer VIII "Maus", the heaviest tank ever built (weighing 188 tonnes). The project gained the approval of Adolf Hitler, who had expressed interest in the development of the tank, but was cancelled by Minister of Armaments Albert Speer in early 1943. Development The development history of the Ratte originated with a 1941 strategic study of Soviet heavy tanks conducted by Krupp, the study also giving birth to the Panzer VIII Maus super-heavy tank.[1] The study led to a suggestion from Krupp's director (Grotte), a special officer for submarine construction, who, on 23 June 1942, proposed to Adolf Hitler a 1,000-tonne self-propelled gun which he named "Landkreuzer" ("Land Cruiser").[2] It consisted of a fully tracked chassis carrying one of the surplus main gun turrets left over from the planned refitting of the Scharnhorst-class battleships. To protect this immense economic investment, the hull of the vehicle was to carry armour up to 25 centimetres (9.8 in) thick, and several anti-aircraft guns were to be installed on the vehicle's engine deck to fend off Allied ground-attack aircraft.[3] Hitler became enamoured with Grotte's concept and ordered Krupp to begin development of it in 1942.[4][5] As of December 29, 1942 a few preliminary drawings had been completed, by which time the concept had been named "Ratte" ("Rat") by Hitler himself.[6][7] These submitted designs went under the titles OKH Auftrag Nr. 30404 and E-30404/1.[3][6] Albert Speer saw no reasonable use of the tank and canceled the project in 1943 before any prototype could be manufactured,[7] although this did lead to the concept of the Landkreuzer P. 1500 Monster self-propelled siege gun, which would have been heavier than the Ratte.[5] The general idea for such a big tank was summed up by Heinz Guderian, saying that: "Hitler's fantasies sometimes shift into the gigantic".[3] Not all historians are convinced that the P.1000 even got as far as an outline design. Although it is generally accepted that Hitler asked for a feasibility study into a 1000-ton tank in 1942, there is much doubt around the specifics of the plan to use the 280-millimetre (11 in) guns or spare turrets from the battleship Gneisenau. The turrets alone weighed approximately 750 tons and required a five-storey structure to house the associated handling rooms and rotating machinery. Such weapons would also require separate magazines and shell rooms as well as handling machinery for the ammunition, all of which required space and power well beyond the scope of what would be possible in a 1000-ton tracked vehicle. Accordingly, some historians believe the P.1000 Ratte diagram to be either a hoax, or alternatively a speculative engineer's sketch made for personal amusement.[8] The Ratte's proposed size was enormous: it would have weighed 1,000 tonnes (1,100 short tons), more than five times the weight of the Panzer VIII Maus, the largest tank ever constructed by Nazi Germany.[7] The weight of the Ratte was made up of 300 tonnes of armament (the total weight of the guns themselves was 100 tonnes, so turret armour would have weighed 200 tonnes),[9] 200 tonnes of armour and frame, and 100 tonnes of track and automotive components, with other features making up the remainder. It was planned to be 35 m (115 ft) long (39 metres (128 ft) when including naval guns), 11 m (36 ft) high, and 14 m (46 ft) wide.[3][10] This immense weight was to be distributed across the ground by six 1.2-metre (3 ft 11 in) wide and 21-metre (69 ft) long treads, together forming two composite treads with a width of 3.6 metres (11 ft 10 in) each.[10] This would help stability and weight distribution, but the vehicle's sheer mass would have destroyed roads and rendered bridge crossings next to impossible. It was expected that its height, and its ground clearance of 2 m (6.6 ft), would have allowed it to ford most rivers with relative ease, thus eliminating the need for bridge crossings.[3][10] Planned propulsion was by two MAN V12Z32/44 24-cylinder marine diesel engines of 6,300 kW (8,400 hp) each (as used in U-boats[which?]) or eight Daimler-Benz MB 501 20-cylinder marine diesel engines of 1,500 kW (2,000 hp) each (as used in E-boats) to achieve the 12,000 kW (16,000 hp) needed to move the tank.[3][10] The engines were to be provided with snorkels, also like those used by German submarines. The snorkels were designed to provide a way for oxygen to reach the engine, even during amphibious operations while passing through deep water.[3] The Ratte′s primary weapon would have been a dual 28 cm SK C/34 naval gun turret. This was the same turret that was used on the German battleship Gneisenau but with one gun and its associated loading mechanism.[10] removed. This allowed extra accommodation of ammunition, and reduced the total weight of the tank by 50 tonnes. The guns used for the Ratte would have fired ammunition developed for other naval guns. Further armament was to consist of a 128 mm anti-tank gun of the type used in the Jagdtiger or Maus, two 15 mm Mauser MG 151/15 autocannons, and eight 20 mm Flak 38 anti-aircraft guns, probably with at least four of them as a Flakvierling quadruple mounts.[2][7] The 128 mm anti-tank gun's precise location on the Ratte is a point of contention among historians, most believing that it would have been mounted within the primary turret, with some others thinking a smaller secondary turret at the rear of the Ratte more logical.[3] Some concept drawings exist to suggest a flexible mount on the glacis plate. The tank was to be provided with a vehicle bay that could hold two BMW R12 motorcycles for scouting, and several smaller storage rooms, a compact infirmary area, and a self-contained lavatory system.[3][10]

The Baby Dragon card is unlocked from the Bone Pit (Arena 2). It is a short-ranged area damage flying troop with moderately high hitpoints and moderately low damage. The Baby Dragon is a small, green baby dragon with short, stubby wings. A Baby Dragon card costs 4 Elixir to deploy. Strategy It can be countered by any air-targeting troop if it is distracted by another unit. If the Baby Dragon is surrounded by troops that are not one-shot by it, such as Minions or the Minion Horde, it will be taken out very quickly since it takes multiple hits to defeat them. The Baby Dragon's area damage allows it to effectively support and protect tanks such as the Giant and the Giant Skeleton from swarms. This is more effective due to its ability to fly, allowing it to attack without endangering itself to as many cards. However, because the Baby Dragon doesn't do much damage per attack, players should consider supporting it with other, high damage per second troops. A lone Baby Dragon is quite easy to counter due to its low damage and relatively short attacking range. Musketeer and Mega Minion are the most effective due to their high damage per second and similar Elixir cost to the Baby Dragon. Hunter can counter the Baby Dragon provided he is placed directly beside it, making him able to two-shot it. If the Baby Dragon has locked on to something else, frailer troops such as the Spear Goblins, Minions or Archers can safely deal considerable damage. If the support of a Crown Tower is available, even tanks that do not target troops or air units can soak the Baby Dragon's hits for long enough that the tower is able to take it out on its own. If split, Archers can take it out as the Baby Dragon will not splash on to the second Archer. This can also work with Spear Goblins; however, this requires incredibly precise timing and, in most cases, another card is required, usually resulting in a negative Elixir trade. The Inferno Tower and the Inferno Dragon are reliable counters to the Baby Dragon. Because the Infernos' damage intensifies over time against higher health units, they will take down the Baby Dragon without taking much damage in return. Although this is not a positive Elixir trade, the former will often still stay alive long enough to defend a few other troops, while the latter can be used for a counterattack. If the opponent has placed a tank in front of the Baby Dragon, an Inferno card will burn straight through both of them, negating the combo for a major Elixir advantage. If using the Inferno Dragon, place it so that it targets the Baby Dragon first, and then the tank, to maximize the amount of health the Inferno Dragon will have remaining. This is not necessary with the Inferno Tower as its lifetime means it will decay soon regardless. The Tesla can counter the Baby Dragon easily, although one should prioritize using it to tackle dangerous building-targeting troops if they are present. A Tombstone can distract the Baby Dragon long enough for the Crown Tower to take it out. The Baby Dragon pairs well with Spear Goblins. The Baby Dragon's high health and fast speed allow the Spear Goblins to damage a Crown Tower while the Baby Dragon tanks the Crown Tower's shots. Despite its low damage output, it is not wise to ignore a lone Baby Dragon on a Crown Tower since it can inflict substantial chip damage. It is effective to pair the Baby Dragon with the Prince since most common counters to the latter are easily decimated by the former. However, large swarms such as the Skeleton Army can still defeat the Prince due to the Baby Dragon's slow hitspeed and rather small splash radius. The Baby Dragon can weaken Barbarians, allowing the player's Crown Towers to take care of them. Pairing the Baby Dragon with the Inferno Dragon is a good idea since the Baby Dragon takes care of small swarms while the Inferno Dragon takes down high health units; this is known as the Double Dragon Combo. However, this combo is vulnerable to some ranged troop cards like the Wizard, Minion Horde, Electro Wizard or spells like Rocket. By placing a Baby Dragon at the leftmost or rightmost side of the Arena, it will be able to ignore buildings placed in the centre of the Arena, thereby reducing the effectiveness of kiting. When using this to support a Slow or Medium speed troop, such as a Giant, it is best to place the Baby Dragon a good distance behind the tank. Otherwise, the Baby Dragon will outpace them, and will get targeted first by the Princess Tower, which weakens the combo. The Baby Dragon pairs well with the Balloon. Not only does it protect the Balloon for air swarms like Bats, but its high speed and mass can push the Balloon closer to the Princess Tower, making it arrive there earlier. Occasionally, the Baby Dragon can be used to snipe a defensive building on the enemy side. The Baby Dragon has decent range and can fly, allowing it to attack the building without being exposed into the opposing Princess Towers. The Baby Dragon can be used as a tank for more fragile units like Skeletons spawned from a Graveyard. Use this after your Baby Dragon has defended against something and is going for a counterattack. The Baby Dragon has a limited area of effect with its attack. A Tornado can mitigate this, allowing it to hit more troops at once. This is more effective when it also hits an enemy Crown Tower, especially if opposing air troops are pushed towards the Crown Tower by the Tornado.

The Barbarians card is unlocked from the Barbarian Bowl (Arena 3). It spawns five single-target, melee Barbarians with moderate hitpoints and damage. They wield short swords and have blonde hair and moustaches. They are the same as those spawned by the Barbarian Hut, Battle Ram, and the Barbarian Barrel. A Barbarians card costs 5 Elixir to deploy. Strategy The Barbarians are a great option to use against enemy troops such as tanks and medium size pushes as the Barbarians have a moderate amount of hitpoints and damage, and are perfect for attacks with other tanks. Although they are very effective against single target troops like the Prince, Barbarians are susceptible to spells and troops which do area damage due to their slow move-speed. Their slow attack speed also leaves them vulnerable to swarms such as the Skeleton Army. Despite being a swarm unit, Barbarians are fairly effective against an Electro Giant due to their high DPS and their moderately higher hitpoints compared to other swarm units, allowing them to survive the Electro Giant's reflected damage and defeat him for a +3 Elixir trade, but they will likely die in the process or have an insignificant amount of remaining health. Note that since the Barbarians will have little health remaining, any sort of damage dealt to them besides the Electro Giant's reflected damage will often nullify their defense, so the player should account for supporting troops or accompanying the Electro Giant as well. Due to the amount of counters to a Barbarian and most resulting in a positive Elixir trade for the opponent, it is ineffective to deploy a group of Barbarians without support in one lane, as they can be easily countered due to their slow speed and can leave the player vulnerable to a push in the other lane. However, if the opponent is extremely low on Elixir, or their best counters are out of rotation, they can be very effective at forcing the opponent to spend Elixir poorly, as they can quickly chop down cheap troops and will completelv destrov a Crown Tower by themselves. They are excellent for taking out low numbers of enemy troops such as the Prince or Musketeer on the player's side. The 5 Barbarians will quickly eliminate the unit if they are dropped directly on top of it, surrounding it. The Barbarians can be effectively countered by most ranged splash troops such as the Bomber and Wizard from a distance. However, you must be careful as the opponent can use a Tornado or Freeze to immobilize or destroy the splash attacker, allowing the Barbarians to devastate the Crown Tower. A powerful counter is the Fireball; the damage and radius of the spell is more than enough to one-shot the Barbarians. However, keep in mind that if the Fireball is underleveled, or if the Barbarians are overleveled, it will not one-shot them. Additionally, the Barbarians can also act as a bait for these counters, allowing you to use other cards that would be weak to Fireball, such as Zappies. Poison can also be an effective counter to use. Its damage over time will eliminate the Barbarians and any supporting troops. However, as with Fireball, it will not defeat Barbarians with a level higher than the Poison. A Rocket can also defeat them, however it is a negative Elixir trade. It is best to be used if the Barbarians are assisted with another card Rage used with Barbarians can do severe damage to a Crown Tower, as it is hard to stop because Rage increases movement and attack speed. The Barbarians together have high damage and can make short work of a tower before the opponent stops them. They are very effective at defeating enemy tanks due to their numbers (5 of them), high combined damage, and ability to tank most spells. Support troops will have trouble defeating them due to their combined hitpoints. If the combo happens to be any ground-based splash damage card + ground- based melee tank, wait for the troops to cross the river. As soon as they cross, immediately drop the Barbarians upon the splash card. They will surround and destroy it quickly before moving on to eliminate the now unsupported tank. This can result in a large positive elixir trade. However, if there is more than one splash unit, the Barbarians are likely to be taken out immediately. Note that this may be ineffective against a P.E.K.K.A. as she can one-shot Barbarians up to 2 levels higher. They are very effective against Hog Riders and Ram Riders. Not only do they deal a lot of damage to these troops, but their high mass and slight spread forces the Hog Rider and Ram Rider to go around them, extending their distance from the Princess Tower. Because of this, the Barbarians can easily defeat these units with no damage to the Princess Tower. The Barbarians, if placed early enough, can surround the Princess Tower, making it less vulnerable to attacks from a Goblin Barrel. They can handle it quite well with only minimal damage done. However, this is a 5 Elixir investment so consider using it if you lack better counters. Strategy They are very effective against Hog Riders and Ram Riders. Not only do they deal a lot of damage to these troops, but their high mass and slight spread forces the Hog Rider and Ram Rider to go around them, extending their distance from the Princess Tower. Because of this, the Barbarians can easily defeat these units with no damage to the Princess Tower. The Barbarians, if placed early enough, can surround the Princess Tower, making it less vulnerable to attacks from a Goblin Barrel. They can handle it quite well with only minimal damage done. However, this is a 5 Flixir investment so consider usina it if Elixir investment so consider using it if you lack better counters.
