Seonghwa did originally audition as a rapper. At one point, about becoming a vocalist, he said something like they had Mingi and Hongjoong. It's so fun that this was his idea (Hongjoong said Seonghwa is the leader of Matz so he did what the leader wanted😊) and I love seeing the development of rapper Seonghwa.

Caitlin I'm so glad you're back! I hope this means you're feeling much better! A fact I think is fun is apparently initially the team was thinking of a more emotional melodic kind of song for this duo and Seonghwa was actually the one who proposed doing this kind of song instead. The two of them are so bold and creative and frankly funny. This song and video are hard, but with a tinge of humor that keeps it grounded. I think my fav section of the video is the part from Seonghwa's money rap through Hongjoong's "you can be busy too" line. It's shot SO well, the lighting and the delivery and the attitude all come together magnificently there.

The humor is such and underrated but important part of this song! That tinge of cheeky/ silly-ness is what helps keep this song from veering too far into braggy territory and keeps it grounded

9:56 "he kinda scares me when he's like that" then I feel like you'll also be scared watching the behind video haha jk, but this is what I noticed... Even when he's just talking to the camera or getting ready he sort of stayed in his role. I think he took his 'acting' in this MV very seriously, especially cause they really wanted to contrast each other (HJ being the hype little gremlin hehe), he stayed in the zone almost throughout. And I really respect that, so interesting to see tho since he's usually our soft, sweet gentleman^^

I’m so sorry you’ve been under the weather! Hopefully you’re keeping warm too! These unit MVs are an issue. Like a HUGE issue. I’m so happy they seem to be giving them more opportunities to grow and shine. To think how soft both of those men are off stage and then doing this. I love rapper Seong. He gives me bad ass Prince vibes. But the unit MVs seem to be very lore heavy! I had to go back and read the diary entries to see if I missed something. But they seem to meshing the Z world back to the A world. Idk, it hurts my brain. But they all slap and this album has grown on me so much!

So happy you’re feeling better. I was under the weather during the holiday season as well, so I know how you feel. Love MATZ, IT’s You killed me. Yes he is a part of the rap line, though he doesn’t rap very often. He did audition as a rapper, but became a vocalist. It’s only since Bouncy and this new album that Seonghwa has truly shined. There are some earlier songs that he was a stand in during Mingi’s hiatus.
