This is a fantastic tip Alex. It makes so much sense and explains why I still slice the ball sometimes with a "stronger" grip. The door knob turning idea is brilliant.

Is that grip used when hitting your irons ?
@taishilaforetch.353 Жыл бұрын
This really helps me understand that a strong grip may be compromising my elbows. Thanks for the tip. I’ve been going back to a bit of a weaker grip recently because i think i’ve been lining up my club face wrong.

Alex, you have been on fire for me lately in terms of your tips matching exactly what I have needed to hear. Having the left forearm crease facing upwards has been a game changer. I always inadvertently set my forearm facing right and have NEVER been able to comfortably get my arms to release. That grip with the left forearm facing right blocked me from making the full swing. Thank you so much.
@jamesdavis5517 Жыл бұрын
Yes, but does that grip (which works for me), transpose to the irons?

Well done! Simple explanation with good detail.

I been trying to work out why ive been fading and its so clear to me now with your instruction. My forearm was so much to the side instead of facing up. Just fallen into a very bad habit. Must of been getting lucky with the straighter strikes but on reflection it was poor practice. Thanks so much alex. Keep up the great content👏👏

Went and tried it today - really helped - have been struggling with lack of distance and chicken winging - same grip for irons?

Perfectly explained, pal. I'm personally struggling to get over 100 yards with any iron, or driver, totally new to golf and only know the game well by playing online games & watching events on TV. Now I'm trying to play in person, it sure is, a whole different ball game 😂

Love this tip cos I was having a tough time releasing my driver when I was using the simulator and I created so much backspin and lost around 30 yards on most of my drives.😢 Hopefully, I'll be able to do better next time. Thanks for sharing all your wonderful tips!!

The missing part of explanation now is how to feel the right hand match with the left in the grip. For example, if I am not careful I can grip my right hand too low, which causes all sorts of issues.

I've changed to that grip based on the way Mike Malaska teaches and the way he tells you to place your trail hand square with the clubface has completely changed my game. I have added 20 yards to each club and my average drive is 260 to 270.. the best golf of my life and you don't need to manipulate the clubface. I like your stuff but absolutely have to disagree with you 100%.. my palm almost faces the ground with my lead hand and my trail hand is a square with the face. And everything he teaches makes sense and is simple. Especially to those of us who played baseball. His saying is that golf is an old game and nobody has invented anything new.. now I realize what most are teaching made the game more difficult..
