When the DJ hit this up at our dances back in high school EVERYBODY was on the dance floor! I mean every single dance we had since it released in 88 it was played till I graduated in 93! From jr high to graduation! Everyone danced w everyone. No cliques, groups, races etc were isolated. The dance he did as it opened up we were all doing. Loved my decade of high school.

I was 17 when this came out. I had a Chevy king cab running 1400 watts 12" MTX woofs with Infinity mids and tweets. Sounded great with metal and rap. Use to cruise DJ Magic Mike , Sir Mix A Lot, Poison Clan, NWA ,Too Short, Gucci Crew and so many others. The 80s was such a fun time to be a teen. Request - DJ Magic Mike - Drop The Bass

Another huge hit from the 80's. Had it on vinyl in an extended version. The beat and other pieces of this song are so many times used as samples in other songs.

We wasn’t into “throwin shots” music was for fun and family. A diss was only about rapping nothing outside of it. We didn’t create evidence against ourselves. Face to Face.

What memories this brings back. THE party joint of the late 80s and into the early 90s. Still hear it today at parties and weddings and clubs and it ALWAYS gets everyone going. You said it, once that beat drops your body just says go dance even if you can’t.

The woman on the track is Lyn Collins, whose 1972 song "Think About It" is sampled here. This track takes that sample and runs with it - this is how you do it! Link to sampled part of song: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gJrUqZ6and-cla8. Just go back and listen to the whole track if you want to.

Old school rap like this was refreshing back in the day because it wasn't laced with sex and profanity. Simple fun lyrics and a catchy beat. Please react to Young MC Bust a Move? It's right up this alley, and you'll love how funky it is, Stax! 🖤🤘

Come on anyone oldhead like myself, knows this was the bass background to anything you scratched to. This song is like a mandatory beat to get people on the dance floor. And I say this being a metal head, but I dj-ed dances back in the day and this was always a go to song for me. Classic.

the bodyguard statement is kinda true cuz most of the rappers from atlanta dont move around wit bodyguards in atlanta...they mash thru the city wit just friends, family, or by themselves...cuz we dont look at them like stars and they dont act like stars...we see them all the time so we dont trip😂

This was hip-hop unifying fun upbeat then gangster rap was promoted by the music industry and rappers started getting killed and it flamed division. I wish hip-hop would have been pushed but it was easier to market hate and division over everyone having a good time.
