@shankarnath7 ай бұрын
I put subtitles in my videos so that the content can be consumed by people who are watching it on their way back (like in a metro) or those who have hearing impairment. Apologies for the inconvenience caused to you Fortunately there is a solution which has been a feature offered by KZbin for the last 10-15 years. You'll see a CC button in the top right corner of your mobile device when watching my videos. Alternatively, if you are watching it on a laptop, you'll see an icon (I think 3rd or 5th from the right) in the bottom right corner. Tapping on these buttons enables and disables the caption. Please try it .. I have used it hundreds of times

Thanks for the suggestion. Every quarter I'm guessing there might just be 2 or 3 changes primarily based on the PEG ratio as valuations move faster than changes in sales/earnings growth or promoter holding.

Shankar ji - Thank you so much for sharing this strategy. Your content (Newsletter, Videos) are something I really look forward to always. Simplicity with which you explain does not come easy as at your end you must have to spend huge to time to make it concise and impactful. While I will watch and rewatch to understand the concept better, I have a qq on the first glance - Aditya Vision has Debt / Equity of 2.3. In my list, it would have been filtered out as per my screeening criteria. Your views on such high Debt / Equity would help to understand why it still has place in your list?
@shankarnath7 ай бұрын
Hello Vikrant ji -- I don't look at debt-equity ratio with as much intent as I look at the interest coverage ratio (I have incorporate Int. Coverage in my screener aswell). Let me explain with a small example. So, 2 companies --- Company A has debt of 100, equity of 200, earns EBITDA of 5 rupees .. and there is Company B with 100 in debt, 20 in equity and earns operating profits of 50 rupees Now for someone looking at D/E ratio, they'll give a higher preference to Company A as that ratio is 0.5 but for me, it doesn't matter because a debt of 100 means the interest payable per year is 10. The company isn't earning enough operating profit which makes it a potential default situation and there is no way the company will be able to rollover the debt which means the DE ratio means nothing here. On the other hand, Company B has a DE ratio of 5 but that doesn't bother me because the company is earning enough (i.e. high interest coverage) to not only pay the interest amounts but it can also extinguish its debt in a few short years.

Very good video. However, I have one question. How do we exactly know when to enter or exit?
@shankarnath6 ай бұрын
There is no study I found on the exit but here's a simple framework I use that works most times i.e. if I enter a stock/portfolio when certain conditions are ripe, one should exit when those conditions aren't there. E.g. in this case, GARP needs a PEG of between 0 and 2. So if the PEG goes over 2, then it's exit time.

@harshkarnati82277 ай бұрын
What are the risk factors using this method sir? And how frequently should we rebalance?
@shankarnath7 ай бұрын
There are a few risks/concerns to address -- 1. Sector concentration is a big one & like we saw in SOIC's methodology, there were too many financial institutions in that list. So figure out a way to cap sector allocation. 2. Cyclical companies might seep into the stock list esp. ones which've had a strong 3-4 years, so one should watch out for that 3. While all companies go through phases of growth & then maturity, its important to evaluate individually on which stage they are in 4. And ofcourse, the overall economic climate / stock market sentiments do play a part on how every equity based strategy operates. Remember, there is style rotation i.e. some years value does well and some years growth does well With re: rebalancing, I have not come across any literature but to experiment, a minimum of 1 year rebalancing should be considered.

@shankarnath7 ай бұрын
Thanks for the video suggestion. As explained in a few earlier videos, I don't switch off due to the market valuation. For me, my asset allocation of 50:25:25 i.e. 50% in large, 25% in mid and 25% in small is most important and then the 80% core, 20% opportunity portfolio helps me meander through phases of high valuation & low valuation across different market cap and also investing styles.
