I bought mine used as well. It had a Tone Print installed that was causing the same "issue". If you load the default or Classic Tone Prine, it will work great. THe pedal isn't the problem. Operator error is something all of us suffer from occasionally.

I had the same problem. I plugged into the tone print editor and fixed the problem in a few minutes

It doesn’t sound bad at all! Even if you’re a bassist and you want to get Mike Kerr’s tone you can do it with this pedal with only up at 100% and a fuzz or overdrive

Looks to me like your blaming the pedal for your own flaw. Both your guitar tone, the toneprint you chose and the way you use the knobs don't work for what you want. This pedal tracks very well, even on bass, but like with all octavers, you have to work on the tone you feed it and know how to dial in the pedal. I am affraid this isn't a plug and play pedal, but in the toneprint editor you can make this little thing do anything you want, you can actually put a whole pedalboard (octaver, various chorusses, dirt, eq) under every knob. But if the synth works for you, that's cool.

My gear letdown was the simplifier analog amp/cab sim. Maybe I wasn't using it in the right way but I couldn't get a single sound I liked from it. Should be said that it was the V1 and I haven't tried the new ones but I got the acs1 and never looked back.

I'm planning to buy this pedal because of the ability to choose the type of tracking, and one of them has more latency. Are you sure you chose the correct toneprint?

I bought this pedal because of your review. I have a Danelectro octave down pedal already....what I really needed was a _really_ clean octave up, which is exactly what this sounds like. 😁

@@AndrewZMusic It's called the Chili Dog octave. They're discontinued, but they're still around. It has 2 sub octave knobs and a level. 😁 It has a great, warm sound.

@@AndrewZMusic BTW I got the pedal and it sounds pretty great for what I needed, and that's not even getting into the Toneprint stuff. Going for that Joe Satriani Not of This Earth/The Snake sound. If you check one of them out you'll know what I mean right away, lol.
