So far for solo play with fun weapons going for the "PUBG moments" and "big risk" plays has been near impossible for me on the new Vikendi; which is simply leading me to personally have less fun! I do think Vikendi is a beautiful map and hope that over time everyone will relax more and play as playfully and laid back as they do on other maps!

The VSS is one of my favourite guns, too. Combined with a MP5 and a Scorpion it makes a nice 9mm setup. The VSS for stealthy stuff, the MP5 for push and the scorpion for vehicle shenanigans.

Not enough 9mm and bullet velocity. I'll take a different caliber secondary for pushes, and more bag space. Sanhok solos many times I have done kar98k with vss. So either they have no idea or they insta die =]

Same. I'm not good enough to realise where enemies are by sound and I often don't spot them in time on maps with high foilage. That is why I prefer more open maps. Sure I'll get third partied but at least I don't usually die without even seeing the enemy.

I've always thought if they allowed us to pick say 3 maps as our favorite and those 3 maps get a higher chance to be selected. That way we have some say but it's still random and they could up the chance for a new map if one comes

While I understand your sentiment, I don't really see how that metric could be calculated and factored into the queue. The map queues are fixed. They have their own rates already configured. Making alternative configurations would be to make an entirely different queue. You can't just apply a personal preference and have it spit out stuff based on your selections. You're sharing that queue configurations with hundreds of other people, each with preferences of their own. Imagine going to a roulette wheel and saying that you want to exclude the color red from coming up. Well, what about the other people using that same wheel who want red to come up?

Love using the VSS. Fully equipped it is hard to compete with from Phase 3 onwards. All we need now is the winchester94 to have the ability to attach handgun/smg suppression and it'll be literally the only game I'll have installed. I consistently go back to pubg from CS an Skyrim. The solution is when you load in the game randomly picks 3 maps and you vote on which to play out of those 3. Sometimes the most popular map won't be in the selection. And the shit maps ie paramo karakin and Miramar won't be picked ever.

I just wish maps were truly random and not weighted. Me and my buddies feel like we get Miramar 90% of the time and although it's a good map, its certainly not our favorite. Because of this we normally only play a lot when a new map comes out. If we truly got Erangel, Deston, Miramar, and a smaller map close to an equal amount of times we would play all the time. We stop playing as much when we get Miramar for the 5th game in a row multiple days in a row.

Satisfying VSS gameplay, as for the part about map selection, I'm no game server expert, but I can say as a player how absolutely boring and frustrating it is to search for a game and leave the lobby because I got mirmar 3 or 5 times in a row. It feels worse than 10min overwatch ques because at least with a search I know I can alt tab for a few minutes until I get a the map I want, but with the current system I have to actively be on thr look out and manually navigate multiple loading screens. There HAS to be a better way the current miserable experience we're having.

The problem with random queues is that they are not Random. I get normally, every other day, 5 Taegos in a row. Because they want to push that map, they add high chance for that map and its sucks.

for map choice, just have each player pick a top map, then have 50 players chosen for a pre-lobby, each persons vote adds 2% chance to pick that map, then a have that be the chance for the map choice. It's super simple. Not hard at all.

I think the only thing that needs to change in map selection is when you keep getting the same map ALL the time. Like today.... I had 6 Deston in a row (am on console). I don't mind any map just so long I am not getting it force fed. If it were me I would just make the algorithm say that you don't get the same map more than 3 times in a row (and when you are in a squad - it's based on the squad leader)...

I think a mix between the random and the vote system would be best, give 3-4 random maps out of the Many, and then vote is to ban 1 or 2 of them and then it randomly picks from the remaining. This will solve issues like getting Taego 6 times in a row, like now because it is the highest chance in the random pool, because it can get banned and it would be random whether it shows up at all anyway. Personally I think the best system is to make all of the maps equally fun with all of the features of the new vikendi, but that will take a lot more time than just letting players pick

That doesn't work. Every option that you give players to vote for _multiplies_ the available queues and splits the players on that server by that product. Let's say you have the option for a player to exclude up to 2 maps in the queue. That means within that server there needs to be a division between: -POVs -Team Size -Queue featuring 5 maps -5 separate queues, each excluding 1 of the contained maps. -10 separate queues, each excluding a combination of 2 maps out of 5. That's 300 variations of options people can queue for. Matches would never be found. And that's completely ignoring ranked and other modes. Btw here is how I got 10 queues for banning 2 maps at a time: If there are 5 maps, A, B, C, D, and E, you can select any two combinations to remove. AB, AC, AD, AE BC, BD, BE CD, CE DE Each variation needs to be an option people can queue for. Bottom line: map selection is a bad idea but nowhere near as bad as map exclusion.

@@R3_dacted0 Why is there a need to have a separate queue for each map combo and not have 5 queues, 1 for each map, and let the player be in several queues at once. Thus deciding what maps they want to play and not play. One of the reasons i stopped playing was i couldn't decide what maps to queue for as i can in csgo. I dont know how csgo have solved it but there you can pick from all the maps in the map pool and each map have a "wait time" that you can see.

How about for map selection it's a time based system? The maps are randomly selected with no player input every hour or so, and then all servers are that map for said hour. That way you can't just quit out of a rotation.

I personally don’t like vikindi. It’s the same thing that everyone complained about mirmar that there was to much open space and no middle game action. Well vikindi is the same as mirmar just there is snow. Circles move so fast you almost have to find a car and half the time you don’t find one. No middle game action. Very open for most of the map. You run across fields that are double the size that they are on mirmar. I honestly liked the old map more than this one and I didn’t like that one either.

@@WackyJacky101 In that case, quitting the lobby if you don't like the map, albo splits the queues. The algorhithm is simple - you get into a lobby, you don't like the map, you quit. Why not make it automated - you choose one map that you don't want, you press start, when you find a server, the game checks what map it is, if it's not the map that you banned, you get in, if it is, the game cancels the connection before you get in, and keeps searching. It would work just like it works now, just the work would be done for you behind the scenes and you wouldn't have to wait to see what map you got. If it still splits the queues, it means exactly that backing out of the lobby also does.
